Question about Alpine TDM-7574 Cassette Player

1 Answer

Hooking up ipod

I have an alpine tdm-7574 in my car and wanted to hook my ipod up directly through the connection on the back (i think it's either called a "DIN connector" or and "M-BUS input"?). i have the correct cable to connect it, but the tape deck doesn't recognise the ipod at all.... the cable i purchased to connect the two says i need to "turn on the 'AUX' function" on the tape deck, but i'm not sure how to do that - any advice?

Re: hooking up ipod

Hi I am on the same boat and about to purchase the same cable. I did a little research which identiies that for TDM 7574 needs to have a Versatile Link eature, which also says that it must have a pink and black cable,I have asked the seller and waiting their response. I know its not a solution (yet), but I hope it gets us closer to a solution. Pls find the link regarding this..

How to get an ipod to work on an Alpine tdm-7544?

Alpine has a din to RCA connector for that unit. That is the cd changer input.

Or buy a fm modulator and go thru fm.
Or buy one of those cassette tapes with the headphone wire coming off it and plug it into iPod. Like they use to do with Sony Walkman CD players.

Hi have just baught an alpine cde 103 bt and the multi changer plug is different to the din lead connecte on my changer ? can i get an adaptor adn where from thanks nick

sorry, the cde 103 will not operate a changer. changers are pretty much on the way out and very few new radios will operate a changer. most are set up to operate mp3's and ipod's.
