Hi i've had my fz7 for a few months now and have taken about 1500 shots but the past 100 or so have had a bright green light showing in the well exposed area's of the photos even in simple mode. i have set every thing to auto but this does not resolve it.

In shutter and aperture modes, my Panasonic FZ7 displays with a blue tone, and when downloaded the photos are also blue monotone. In simple and scenic modes, it's full-color.

Check the WHITE BALANCE settings and the COLOR EFFECTS settings (marked as W. BALANCE and COL. EFFECTS when MENU is pressed).

When you got to the MENU setting, press up or down arrow until you reached either selection, press the left arrow, and you'll see several options under the selected function. In WHITE BALANCE, there's an option whether you'll be shooting under sunny or cloudy skies, tungsten or flourescent lighting, and an option to select Auto or Manually set White Balance. This affects the over all color tone as it compensates the color correction depending on your shooting conditions. Fluorescent lighting for example exhibits blue spectrum, thus setting White Balance to FLUORESCENT will add warm or yellow tones to the photo. Tungsten lighting and sunny conditions exhibits yellow lighting, and setting to the White Balance on this mode will add cool or bluish tone to the picture.

Same with COLOR EFFECTS: settings include WARM, COOL, SEPIA or BLACK AND WHITE (gray scale).

Chances are, you have accidentally set the WHITE BALANCE or COLOR EFFECTS to any of these. To see if this is the problem, try shooting under SIMPLE MODE (Marked with a HEART icon at the rotary dial on top right of the DMC-FZ7). If the problem goes away, then it is with the WHITE BALANCE and the COLOR EFFECTS settings. Try setting the COLOR EFFECTS to "OFF", and the WHITE BALANCE to "AUTO".

If all else fails, then you got a problem with the image sensor of your Panasonic DMC-FZ7 Digicam

Can you post a link to a sample photograph? Also, is the green light always at a localised/specific area or spread across various photographs? Regards Virdi

Delete & double pictures

you probably have the burst on. I have done this lots of times. before you get ready to take your shot, push the delete button until the multi-burst icon goes away. this will be represented by what looks like stacked boxes followed by either an H, an L, or a sideways 8 (or infinity symbol). that should solve your taking 2 pictures at once thing.

Pictures are blur

Your pictures are blurry because the camera did not focus properly on the subject.

First, turn on the camera in any picture taking mode (or video mode), then look at the screen or viewfinder. There should be four white corners in the center of the camera display. This is your targeting area.
1. Aim the camera at your subject so this center area is directly on it.

2. Press the shutter button lightly, not all the way down. Wait for a second or two WITHOUT RELEASING YOUR FINGER. If the white corners turn green, keep the finger on the button and press it all the way.

(Once the screen flashes black, a picture is taken and you can release the finger).
If the targeting area turns red and blinks, then the camera has not focused. You can to try to focus again by following step 1 and 2. If a picture is taken when the targeting area is red, then the picture will be blurry.

If there is no targeting area, then you can still focus by aiming the camera at your subject. Now follow step 2. A green box will appear on the subject, then a sharp picture can be taken.
The red arrow that flashes means that the pictures or videos are being written onto the memory card.

Also, try to be steady when taking pictures, because slight hand movement can cause blurry images too.

Page 25 in the DMC-FZ7's english manual will also explain how to focus.

Water spot inside the lens on my Lumix camera

To take the lens off, the camera has to be dismantled, and unless you are an experienced technician, there is a 95% chance that the camera will have more problems than what it started with.

Have you taken any pictures with the water spot inside the lens? If it is visible in pictures, then you have several options:

1. Ignore it.

2. Leave it there and use an image editor to clone out the spot in the picture. (Recommended).

3. Take the camera to a repair shop, or mail it to Panasonic's service center. This is the expensive option, to remove the water spot, the price most likely will be well over $100.

4. Buy another camera. The FZ7 is rated to about 50,000 shots, so if you are approaching this number they it may well be worth it to just get another camera.

Unless the spot is seriously affecting your pictures, then leave it there. By having the camera opened there is a high chance that other problems will be introduced, such as: fingerprints, dust or hairs inside the lens or misaligned lens elements.

My FZ7's lens is full of dust, yet this is not usually visible in pictures, when it is, I can usually remove it on the computer.

I would recommend taking the camera to a service center as a last resort.

Problem taking pictures after number 48 is shot.

Are you using a panasonic SD card? The camera may not function properly when a cheap SD card is used.

I also have a FZ7 and it works better with a memory card of the same brand.

Also, if the card or the camera are old, they may be worn out.

Screen Brightness

Your ballast may not be up to 100% of its rated capabilities, thats often the cause when the brightness level gets to unwatchable levels. You may need to troubleshoot the ballast voltages a defective ballast can usually cause a lamp to loose about 60 % of its brightness levels. The other possibility could be the DLP mirrors need polishing but that is something better left to a repair shop as the DLP mirrors are sensitive
