Question about Electrolux EL7020A Oxygen 3 Ultra Canister Vacuum Cleaner Bagged Vacuum

1 Answer

Kenmore 116.22612 will not suck...only blows out. Checked for all clogs, put in new bag, cut away all long hairs circling the rotator brush and let it cool off. Now what?

The last time I used it, six days ago it was fine. It was not showing any suction power so I changed the bag, cleaned the filter, checked for clogs in the hosing, and cut the long hair and one string from around the rotator and have left it cool off.

Nanci, I'm sort of confused about what you have as a vacuum, you listed a Kenmore 116.22612, in the question, but the listing shows an Electrolux Oxygen Cannister. These are not the same vac. Second, when you say it will only blow out, where is it that it is blowing out from. Are feeling the exhaust area? or is it coming from somewhere else. When you say you have checked for a clog everywhere, you need to check the wands that connect the hose to the floor tool, as well as the neck of the floor tool,, then hook up the hose alone and check the suction there. Last but not least, check the suction at the machine itself.

All things being equal, it would be helpful to know what has happened since the last time it was used? and how long ago that was? One thing to check, there must be a bag in the unit or it will not have much, if any, suction. However, other than that there's no good reason for this action.

SOURCE: I have an Ecectrolux Epic

Try this.
Disconnect hose. Turn machine on and place hand over intake. If it shuts off immediately, first try turning dial on top of machine so largest dot matches up with arrow. Turn on and place hand over intake again. If it still shuts off immediately, the "control valve assembly" is worn or broken and needs replaced. Don't try this yourself.
Take your complete machine to the nearest authorized Aerus Electrolux shop, or call and ask someone to pick it up. There's no extra fee for this, or delivery upon repair.
The repair/replacement should include a complete cleaning of your vacuum in the labor, but ask the service manager to be sure.
The shop nearest you can be found by typing your zip code into the indicated space on the site listed below.

Roller with brushes is not rotating although light is on and sucking sound is there. Is this a belt problem?Detached from floor part, the hand part is working fine. New filter. new bag.

Hi, it's Allie from Crucial Vacuum!

Your Kenmore vacuum brushroll is connected to the motor by two different sized geared belts. Over time, the belt's gears wear down and stretch out losing the grooves and tension that turn the roller. Another cause could be there is debris stuck on the roller and/or bearings. Changing the belts may be the solution to your problem.

Checking your unit's brushroll and clearing it of any tangled hair strands or debris that my be blocking the airway will be helpful. Follow by checking the internal hose for any blockages.

Brush bar is not spinning

Common causes of brush roller failure are belt breakage and clogging. If this is a Dyson animal vacuum, you may find the brush roller is so clogged with hair that it cannot rotate. The solution is to remove the brush roller and clean it thoroughly, particularly inside the end caps where hair accumulates. It is unlikely that an entire animal was ingested.

take the mini emptor off(plastic piece on bottom of cloth bag) this is done by rotating it away from the body of the machine. There is most likely a clog there. Also take the brush head off and inspect fan for chips or cracks this will also reduce suction. let me know if you need further assistance

It seems to blow air out instead of sucking up

Remove the bag on top and the plate on the bottom. Clean out the air passages, top and bottom, looking for a clog. When it seems clear, turn on the vacuum to see if air is moving through. Don't allow a full bag to remain in place Check the brush on the bottom for string, hair, or thread caught in the bristles or bearings on either end. Hope this helps!

My dirt devil vacuum won't suck up anything and its brand new!!

Take the vac bag off and turn on the vac , it should blow air out, if not unclogg the hose where the bag connects, also when you check the roller and belt, unclog the flex hose(located inside base near roller assembly) that sucks up the dirt. As long as the motor works fine the rest is just maint.
