Question about Dryers

1 Answer

Lgr7646eq0 A piece snapped off & now the dryer won't turn on at all. The piece that snapped of is very small. At one end it has a white rubber cover and at the other end looks like copper shaped like a "L". It was located by the door, which pulls down, of the dryer because the sleeve of my sweater got caught on it as placing clothes in the dryer. Can you help me to try to repair this on my own? Thank you

This link goes directly to the exploded view/tear down page for G.E. dryers at From there you can navigate back to the parts breakdown/order page. Just enter your model no. in the search box and click search Most G.E. dryers have 3 or 4 screws holding the top panel to the front panel. Open the door andd they should be accessible at the top of the door opening. After removing those, then should be 2 screws at the bottom to loosen, then the front lifts off the 2 screws. The diagram should help guide you through the rest.

you need to replace the felt on the dryer

SOURCE: My clothes are getting caught in my dryer.

I am having this same problem with my GE dryer. I found a post on from a guy that has repaired these for years. He says it is the rear drum bearing. Looks like a pretty easy fix, I am going to try to do it myself. If you try this, I have also read that you should spend the extra $10 to go ahead and replace the drums front felt glide kit.

Good Luck!

SOURCE: Clothes getting stuck in door seal when drying.

the plastic that you see overlapping the metal on the sides of the opening is in two parts, top and bottom, you can see the seem. the top is the smaller part, this plastic is also the drum support on the front. There are some glides on the top section that wear with time, after a few years they may need replacement. Perhaps these are worn out dropping the drum creating an uneven gap and catching. there is also a felt strip in there between the front of the dryer and the drum, keeping it back.
To view this remove the top by removing the 2 screws inside upper door opening holding top down. then lift top and if plastic console slide to left then pull away, metal -just pull straight. remove 2 screws holding front to cabinet sides. pull front forward. glides are visible on top. if not there or worn thru plastic replace upper plastic support

Sharp r520kst door won't stay shut

If the door will not stay closed it is the spring inside door, or the small plastic piece that holds the spring which is attached to the $80.00 piece called outer door.
To fix it, it is EASY and you do not have to even take the inside cover all the way off. Just remove the three sides of cover by gently slipping a plastic putty knife around rim to release the clips. Then attach the spring to the small hole below where the plastic piece used to be, which is located in the metal on the glass frame piece, use tweezers, hold the other end of spring as you place spring onto plastic door latch and set into place!
Snap the inside cover back on and YAY! FINI!

Clogged drain tube on Bosch Axxis condensing dryer

just after having the same problem on my Bosch condenser dryer, remove the top cover by removing the two screws on the rear panel, slide the top cover aft to remove it. when the cover is lifted clear you will see where the drain hose to the collection container is installed, look at the aft l/h corner, you will see a black hose comming up through the corner which attaches to a white plastic end piece which is clipped to the frame of the dryer. Release the clip which hold the white end piece, pull the end piece from the hose, there's a good chance that the end piece is block with fluff etc, blow through from the opposite to clear any blockage, blow through the hose to make sure that its not blocked also. Hopefully this will cure your problem , rebuild in reverse order ----- Hope this helps

Reassembly instructions

That little screen that lies at the bottom of the bucket needs to be snapped out and the washer replaced. You have to unscrew the bottom, carefully remove the spring loaded lever, ( don't loose the spring) After fishing the lost rubber washer out of the hole, I used a screw driver or other similar item to pop the screen out. ( use care not to poke a hole in screen.) Next replace lever and spring and push the Star ended piece through the bottom and THEN fasten the washer. Replace all excess pieces and it should be fixed provided the washer isn't badly worn. This is the only way I know how to fix it after countless different web pages and searches.

Dvd tray door will not open.unplug ang plug 100 times tray will not open and release dvd inside

This happened to me, heres what i did to fix it;
un plug the unit, remove the 7 screws holding on the cover, you can manually push the disc drawer out now, remove your disc, position the drawer so the center of the disc indentation is even with the front (bezel)
Now below the drawer you should see a black rectangular plastic piece with a small rectangular hole and on the right side a circular hole with a white nylon piece showing through, the rectangular piece snaps off (be careful its fragile) now you can see the two pullies the the old rubber belt went between(the old belt should be there also) find a rubber band approximately the same size or a hint smaller install it
, then plug the unit in and try it out (keeping your hands and tools out of the player) if the test works reasemble the unit and revel in your accomplishment. (I find the rubber bands last about 18 months)

How do i turn off the orange light on the vizio tv, it won't go off after the tv is turned off?

That little fella is only turned off by unplugging it. If all those little lights in America could be turned off we could do with one less nuclear power plant. If unplugging it is not an option, my wife's solution is to cover it with a piece of black tape.

Hear a periodic banging during rotation of the drume

usually you can check it at the back cover, check if the dryer tub is directly mounted or connected to the motor, then check the rubber stabilizer or spring stabilizer of the motor which is connected to the base. This stabilizers are responsible of the balance of the dryer tub during high speed operation or rotation of the motor. check this stabilizers and replace it if it is defective or weak.

and one thing more, just make sure that when load your wet clothes see to it that you load it at the center of the dryer tub, so that when the motor starts to spin at speed it is in a balance position.

Cat jumped on top of printer and 2 pieces popped out

Hi there you will have to remove the top cover and you will be able to see where it goes as the roller in question is the paper eject roller. there are usually four screws under the top cover and also at the rear of the machine. The picture where the roller is resting on the top of the printer the roller is situated right under that also that white bushing holds the roller in at one end usually the left as you look at the machine from the front.

Thanks J
