Question about GE JKP45 Electric Double Oven

Open Question

My GE double oven JKP45 will work for a while and then the control panel will go dark and the oven shuts off. Is this something I can fix myself? Other than that it works beautifully, good temperatures etc.

SOURCE: Temperature is wrong

Many ranges show a beginning temperature that is higher than actual temperature, then the gap closes as it heats up.
Use a accurate oven thermometer to check your temps.
If it is faulty, it will not recalibrate to offset 200 degrees. You will have to replace the ERC.

SOURCE: GE JKP45 double wall oven shuts off

Several months ago, my lower GE JKP45 oven started making funny noises and stopped working at the same time. The same thing happened to my top oven recently. I can still hear the funny noises unless I leave the door open. And if I close the door then the noise starts again and the door will lock itself and won't open for awhile before suddenly I am able to open it.

My GE JKP45 double oven needs a new control panel (part # WB27K5047 which is no longer available) There are a few place I've found on-line that refurbish electronic panels, or if it only has a loose...

according to the website i use to look up part#s while the part# you have is indeed not available a replacement for it is WB27T10050
to removeand replace it unscrew the screws that hold it to the cabinet pull it out about 4-6 inches, remove the grill directly under the control panel on the upper oven and look for screws around the panel where ya have pulled it out of the cabinet
to see yourself the replacement part# go to searspartsdirect and enter the model# and you will see the eoc (electronic oven control) as item #16 under the control panel and top tab

Getting F1 on the display and the oven shuts off

Error F1 means that the control panel has gone bad and to resolve this issue it should be replaced. Unfortunately there is no other way it can be resolved.

The part is no longer available so unfortunately the only way to fix the issue is to remove the control board and mail it to a place like to have them refurbish the parts. This will likely cost $200 or so but it's the only way to fix your issue at this point.

Additional details about this part coudl find in this DIAGRAM PARTS LINK.

Good luck (remember to rate and comment this answer).

GE JKP45 double wall oven shuts off

This sounds like a loose connection (solder joint) on the main control board. I had one that had a similar problem. checked the price of a control board $350. I took the control panel off, took the board apart and found a loose connection on one of the relays. resoldered the bad connection. oven works fine now.

Top oven will not heat up

Had a similar problem. The overheat sensor had failed to the open position and the oven control would light up and you could set the temp, but it would drop to 100 degrees and then go blank.
