SOURCE: PC Battery voor een Dell 4600
When I boot I get an error message - and I think the battery is to be replaced, what and how should I do?
Thanks in advance for the answer! 1. Turn the computer off. 2. Disconnect the power-cable. 3. Remove the side-panel. 4. Look on the motherboard for a silver-coloured circular piece, about 2 cm. in diameter. 5. Read the lettering on the top of the piece. 6. VERY CAREFULLY remove the piece, by lifting from one edge. 7. Take it to a computer-store, and buy a replacement. 8. Check the lettering on the top of the new piece. 9. Insert the new piece, with the lettering on the new piece matching the lettering in #5, above. 10. Replace the side-panel. 11. Reconnect the power-cable. 12. Start your computer. 13. Immediately, press DEL to enter BIOS-setup. Set the date & time. 14. Save/Exit from BIOS-setup. 15. Reboot.

NMI parity error (Non-maskable Interrupt) is generally a motherboard or a RAM issue.
You can try flashing the BIOS to A04 (You'll need to copy the flash executable to a bootable CD or bootable USB drive to run the flash.
Try individual or different RAM modules
if all those do not resolve, issue is most likely the motherboard.
