SOURCE: Troy-Bilt Mower is running real slow.

If you can, check the flywheel key. If it is bent but not quite broken, it can cause slow operation. To do that, take the starter off the top of mower. Take off the big nut on the flywheel. Find a nut of the same size and place on the thread you took the nut off, but only a few turns. Hold the flywheel with one hand, lifting a little, and tap the nut with a hammer with the other hand. The flywheel should come off. Look at the key, it holds the flywheel to the shaft. If it is bent or broken, that is the problem. Replace it and go about your day! Good luck...Lee

SOURCE: front wheels lock up when pull mower backwards

Typically self-propelled mowers are propelled using the front wheels, which only turn forward. Pulling the mower back while the front wheels are turning will damage the drive gears. It's best to raise the front wheels slightly off the ground before pulling back.

SOURCE: troy bilt mower 6.75 hp smoking too much oil...

Check oil level, it could be just excess oil. Also check air filter, it may need cleaning/replacing. Depending on how old the nower is, it could be broken rings in the engine, in that case... time for a new mower. hope this helps!

do you mean, when you raise the front of the mower the front adjustment brackets let the wheels fall to the lowest setting ??? try bending them where they're supposed to snap into the adjuster bracket.

Brand new Troy-Bilt XP Horse, model 13bx79kt011 - Won't Move

Confirm the park brake is off. If a hydro-static drive tractor starts but engagement of the operator controls for the transmission drive results in neither a forward or reverse drive of the mower itself, the operator should check that the manual bypass controls have not been left in the activated (bypass) position.

Look in to where the lever connects and confirm the movement. You should be able to hear the hydraulic oil with a slight whine as you activate the drive forward pedal!
See page 18 for bypass setting?

Can't push troy bilt lawn tractor when it is in neutral

It sounds like the tractor is hydro, if so you need to find the release lever to allow it to move in neutral.
Most hydros have the lever under the seat or at the back of the tractor just behind the back wheels.
if and when you find it, it will need to be slid across and locked in to the operset position or pulled out, depending on what type it is.

Hope this helps

Are you holding the emergency stop lever? If you were operating the mower with your hands on the handle, there is a separate lever that you are expected to hold together with the main handle. You have to hold these two handles together to start and to operate the mower. Good luck.
