Question about Alpine Car Audio & Video

1 Answer

I have an Alpine MRV-70 amplifier that cuts off completely every now and again. Power is cut off altogether and no sound plays. Main Power line, fuse and fuse holders have been checked. Amp plays perfect when power is on... then all of a sudden power is dead.

You are overloadign the amp with your speakers. They may be the incorrect ohms or simply too large for the amp causing it to go into protection mode intermittently.

SOURCE: wiring my subs to my alpine mrv-1000

did you read your instruction manual. does it says "it could be bridged to other amp"?. you can't make a bridge to amplifier that is not bridgeable. bridging an amp is a way which it is made through transistor type ampilfier by bridging more transistor inside and more voltage is required for bridging.
I don't know if we could do to an IC type amplifier. ask an experts about bridging IC types how to bridge maybe they know how.
and if you had an successful bridging, you may have a problem through your speakers, they may hit hard but you will experience some errors through your speakers and easy to worn.

SOURCE: Alpine MRV-F345 VLT ERROR

Hello,

This is an indication of a voltage error, I have seen this when the voltage regulator or the car battery is begining to have a problem supplying enough current to the amplifier. Check the voltage levels with the amp turned off and then turn on the amplifier, if the voltage drops this means that there is poor voltage regulation and this may mean that you will have to replace the car's voltage regulator.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

Shuttle83

SOURCE: V12 MRV-1507 or Xplod? Amplifier - XM-ZR1252 good quality sound

Alpine is just a better brand in general. I have the older MRV-1507, sounds GREAT, i have had friends who has had the Explode line, but it was always a temporary system until they got something better, like the alpine or kenwood.
