Question about Homedics SC400 Glass LCD Digital Scale

Open Question

I love my scale, but I need to change the batteries every 2 weeks. I'm using Enercell batteries CR2032 or Duracell batteries CR2032. Shouldn't the batteries last a little longer? Is there a different brand battery I should be using?

Need # for replacement battery, please

Many Taylor scales use one or two CR2025 or CR2032 batteties.
I usually put in the higher current CR2032. These are available online, shopping centers, pharmacies, and even grocery stores. If you Google your part number and manufacture you can download the manuel which will tell you the battery required.

Maybe those battery contacts are not making good contact with the batteries, or the contacts are dirty with corrosion. You can clean them with rubing alchol.

My scale showed Lo, no reading, then I replaced battery, now shows nothing, dead. What do I do next?

The Instruction Book for your scale can be found here:

Sounds like no power. Check for correct battery replacement; may need to verify that your replacement batteyr is still good.

Battery Replacement

1. Use 3 volt CR2032 lithium battery (as installed).

2. Open the battery compartment on the bottom of the scale.

3. Remove the old battery from the compartment.

4. Place the new battery with the "+" sign up into the battery compartment.

5. Replace the battery compartment cover.

A coin-cell battery (CR2032) usually powers the real-time clock and CMOS memory. The battery is 3 Volts, 3/4" in diameter and has an estimated life of three years. When the computer is plugged in, the standby current from the power supply extends the life of the battery.
Just open the desktop, locate the CMOS (Coincell) and remove using screw driver. Replace the battery with CR2032 or an equivalent one.The following brands are used interchangeably for this item: Energizer (ECR2032), Duracell, Panasonic, Eveready, and 3M etc, which can be purchased from any local electronics store.

GoodLuck!
Dont forget to appreciate the solution if I could have been of any help!

Sounds like the scales have developed a leak across the battery and is draining the power. New scales maybe the best option but before that, have a look to see if there is any spilliage around the pcboard and/or battery terminals.
