Question about Sears Craftsman LiftMaster Chamberlain Garage Door Opener Wireless Keypad Model 976LM Security+

1 Answer

I have a Genie Directlift 2060 garage opener. My wireless keypad has always worked fine until now. I enter the code and nothing happens. I replaced the battery with the same result. I followed the instructions on the inside panel of the pad to reprogram the number and still the wireless keypad won't work. When you are punching in the code the red light on the keypad flashes like it is supposed to but still doesn't work. Any ideas?

Your wireless keypad may be flashing the red light to falsely assure you that it is working when, in fact, it is not. Another possibility is that the receiver has failed.

SOURCE: Liftmaster wireless keypad closes but won't open the door

If you are sure the battery is good you have a bad keypad. The signal strength is so weak it will not penetrate the door.

SOURCE: Liftmaster Keypad does not operate door

You can try programming the keypad but I have a feeling it has just quit working. To program it: locate the smart/learn button on the rear of the motor unit near where all those white wires go. Press and immediately release this and then walk over to your keypad and key in your PIN and press enter.

SOURCE: door close with wireless remote entry but will not open

HAVE SOMEONE PUT IN THE CODE AND THEN HOLD DOWN THE ENTER KEY. IF THE LED NEXT TO THE PROGRAM BUTTON FLASHES RAPIDLY THE KEYPAD IS SENDING A CODE. TRY REPROGRAMING THE KEYPAD.

IF THE LED DOES NOT FLASH, NO RADIO SIGNAL IS BEING SENT THE KEYPAD IS BAD.

SOURCE: My pad, when I put in pass code #, will not open my garage door from the outside.

We have a Craftsman 1/2 HP garage door opener with wireless keypad. Recently, the keypad has stopped working. I replaced the battery, but it still did not resolve the problem. I do not see a light and the keypad does not seem to be responding. Any ideas how I should troubleshoot this issue?

Sounds like a skinned wire on your front or rear limit switches is touching metal. Go over your low voltage wiring and test again.
