Return the phone to the dealer and they will probably give you a new one. The phone should be under warranty.
The phone may have a bad motherboard and just died. make sure your battery is the same model battery if not get the same model battery for his phone.
But i would just try and get a new one from your dealer.

SOURCE: My LG Versa Keeps Freezing .
There is no way you can fix it on your own. Your phone probably still has the one year warranty that comes with it when you buy the phone from Verizon. If you bring back the phone to Verizon (and it has no water damage or other physical damage that would prevent them from taking it) they will replace it by either mailing you a new one or giving you a replacement on the spot.
This is not your problem that the phone is freezing, so they should have no problem replacing it. I have the original Env and it would constantly shut off by itself so I brought it to the store before my 1 year warranty expired and they replaced it with little questions. They did say that if there was water damage than they couldn't take it. Your dad shouldn't be mad at your for this, but if he will be, than you can find someone else to bring you to the verizon store because you don't need the account holder there with you when getting a replacement like this.

This device is not designed for use on Cricket. While you can flash devices to work services are not guaranteed to work. Cricket will only warranty their own phones and their may be unforseen issues with the internet. As this device is not designed to be with cricket this could be any number if issues that cannot be diagnosed and resolved online. You will want to either call Cricket Tech Support or if you can find a cricket store tke it in there and see if they can reflash it and verify correct settings.

SOURCE: will my phone work
Above is incorrect. Boost uses two different networks each is different technology. The one using SIM cards is the IDEN network (Nextel). The other is Sprint (who owns Boost) and that does not take a SIM, it's a CDMA network. All Sprint phones can work on this network, but you must get Boost to activate the phone. They won't do this unless you are already a customer and tell them you are replacing a broken phone, then give the Sprint phone ESN# (under battery) for them to log in your account. If you have a Sprint LG Rumor it will then work without unlocking or flashing, no changes necessary.
