Usually this happens when the vista boot loader fails. During boot up, keep tapping F8 and then select Disable Automatic Restart... and get the stop error code which usually starts with 0x

Can t open my dell inspiron 1440 old one

For its time it was a good spec with Vista 64 and 4GB RAM and should still work well today. Three options.
1. Try logging into the administrator account in safe mode.
Start your PC and press F8 repeatedly before Windows loads to open Vista's Boot Options screen.
Select Safe Mode and press Enter.
On welcome screen choose the Administrator account, which by default has no password. Just hit return.
Goto Start / Control Panel / User Accounts and create a new user account with admin privileges
Close and restart PC and log into the new account.

2. Use a password recovery program
The following link shows 8 free password recovery programs.
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/toolsofthetrade/tp/passrecovery.htm

3. As a last resort reset to factory defaults. Dells normally come with a hidden recovery partition.
Either boot from the recovery disks you created or use the hidden partition for a fresh install.
To do a factory restore,on startup press Ctrl + F11 which will take you to the recovery partition so you can do a factory restore. This will then create new user accounts.

My Dell 1750 Inspiron laptop will power up, then my user profile appears, I enter the correct password and the screen says ''The User Profile service service failed to open the logon'' ''User profile...

It seems like the user profile is not working.
You can try to start computer with safe mode with command prompt (by pressing F8 while starting the computer) and then activate administrator profile (by typing : net user administrator /active:yes) in command prompt and after that you can create a new user profile.

Let me know if it will not work.

What is the default password for Dell Inspiron running windows vista

Well, forgot Dell windows password?

I don't know Dell's default password, however I know how to reset the windows vista password.

Three ways:
1. Another valid administrator account which can normally log on.
2. A password reset disk or a repair disc, which is created in advance ( before you lost password ).
3. Third-party software to create a bootable password reset CD/DVD or USB, like Windows Password Reset .

it was easy to me if you mention which types of operating system you are using i will tell you 5 steps in xp...
How to Remove an Administrator Password in Windows XP

1 Insert your Windows XP CD into your CD drive and boot your computer. If you receive the message "press any key to boot from CD," press any key.

2 Press "Enter" to set up Windows. After you accept the license agreement, you will be asked if you want start a repair process.

3 Press "R" to begin the repair process. Setup will now check your disks and start copying files, which can take several minutes. After this, reboot. Let the computer boot normally (do not press a key to boot from CD).

4 Keep your eye on the lower left portion of the screen. When you see the Installing Devices progress bar, press "Shift" and "F10" at the same time. This will open a command line console.

5 Type "NUSRMGR.CPL" (without quotes) at the prompt, then press "Enter." This will give you access to User Accounts. Remove or change your password. Write it down. After the repair is finished, you will be able to log on with your new password.

Once i open my computer dell 1535 it request for system adminstrator password which i do not have?help please

I have few questions before we proceed, is the question being asked before you reach the "logon screen"?. There are different passwords like bios password, hdd password, and user password. If you didn't set the user administrator password, just leave it blank and hit enter. Please let me know with the operating system running on your system. Good luck.
Thanks for using FixYa.
