General:U may have turn it off/mute by remote accidentaly.ceck audio settings on the amplifier.Ceck on/off /volume button also located on the sub if apply.Ceck signal from the wiring with another woofer or multimeter (empiric u can do it by small light bulb 6-12v).If still need to open the case, remove the drive mask (textil/metal)by putting little pressure with a flat tool under it,under it should be the screws from the drive itself, can be taped with small caps. The box itself most likely it won't open.Caution:turn off ,work carefully not to scratch, use plastic tools, don't put large amount of pressure, the drive mask should pop easy.

Get sound and "invalid format" message displayed instead of picture

Could have still been hit by a surge. Take the back off of the TV and look at the main board were you connect your HDMI. See if it is scorched or components that blackened. Also check your DVD player on another set. Your DVD player could be the problem.

Subwoofer stops working at times and will not work.have had it about 4 or 5 days just started doing it today

many pple have the same problem.... that subwoofer stops working sometimes when playing music or something else... I also faced the same problem .... I did the following things..

open your subwoofer. checked all connections for any loose contacts... and then check the wire of the main speaker.....

IF YOU FIND DIFFICULTIES IN OPENING OR IF YOU DONT KNOW MORE ABOUT THE INTERNAL PARTS OF SUBWOOFERS.. THEN DONT TRY TO OPEN IT.. YOU MAY CAUSE DAMAGE TO IT...IN THIS CASE :

GIVE YOUR SUBWOOFERS TO THE SERVICE CENTRE FOR REPAIRING...

HT762TZ -hdmi off

Try new hdmi cable. Try different inpus on set. Try another known good signal source to determine is tv or souce device if at fault. If aother hdmi connector on set ok then replace main brd in tv, if none of the hdmi inputs work even with known good cable and known good signal sourse the replace main board in tv

I'm not sure how to set up my LG HT762TZ home theatre system up properly. I have connected everything and made sure it is working properly, but i am not sure where to put the speakers and which way to put...

The rear speakers are meant to be placed at the rear preferrably overhead or at the bottom behind your listening area. Both speakers should be facing the sides. You can place your subwoofer anywhere as its sound is non directional. Don't forget to adjust its volume properly, the rear should not overwhilme the front/center sound. Happy Listening
