Hi,
First try to format your data traveler. If it doesn't help you then you have to repair or replace it. Rush to the nearest Kingston or Seagate service center.
Click Start
Click Run
Type CMD
Press Enter
Type CHKDSK q: /F <--- where 'q' is the drive-letter assigned by Windows to your Kingston.
After "check-disk" has repaired all the errors, your device can be formatted.
when you remove the flash drive you need to do an eject and wait until the system tells you that it is safe to remove it. Pulling the flash drive off the usb port without doing this can cause data corruption thus the errors you are encountering.
One solution is to empty all of the contents of your flash drive into a hard drive, format the flash drive, and then check its size. You should be able to use it normally.
Hopefully you did not get a "fake" Kingston 4GB flash drive that were being sold on Ebay for really low prices.
Good luck.
getting a repair software form the manufacturer website will rectify the problem which is free in most cases and works ONLY with a genuine product any other will not work.
so pay a visit to kingston website and look for a suitable formating software.
good luck
