My Toshiba I don't have a remote my TV and it stock on channels 3,4,5 My model is 27a45 I got a Toshiba remote but it not working at all I don't know what to do

I do not know your TV type but there may be a few answers.
You say that you have a Toshiba remote but its not working?
Is this the correct one for this model?
Or has it laid around near the TV because it did not work and left?

I say this because a faulty remote with batteries in is very bad if a set can "see it" because it may send pulses out which a TV may act upon without you being aware, I would remove batteries from a remote in a faulty condition for this and other reasons.

Having said this my thoughts for your problem may be its been set into Favourites mode which a person has selected certain channels to be more easily selected.

Another old system I am aware of was during channel setting would be to engage Skip Mode for certain channels to "leave them out" (to stop certain ones being viewed by children).

A further problem might be that your set has developed a fault which will require possibly an engineer to look at.

Cures for it :- well the first two would possibly require a working remote and instruction book to check out the above points I mentioned, as for the last this may require you to Reset you TV back to an original state again, this will reset its software and possibly cure it. This would be found in Menu-Setup area of its menu.

Hope this gives you some help.........

Toshiba model 36A43 a Universal remote, a HD Digital Antenna the TV's settings menu no antenna as a auto ch. program search. Has TV/CABLE, I tryed cable didn't set.

I've checked the specs: of your TV. Its original remote control number is "Toshiba CT-90157". This remote control have a slide switch by the left side of it, [a selector switch]; that selects inputs TV, CBL/Sat, VCR, and DVD. You have to select the slide up position to select the TV, to select the TV function by its buttons. Just have to slide one step down to select the input to CBL/SAT; to select the CBL/SAT function by its buttons.
But, without a remote control, you can seect the TV/Video function by its front panel controls. There is press button switch, just right side of its Menu button. For each press of it, the set's input selection will change from TV to Video and vice versa.
Just press this button to select the TV as the input. Then only, the antenna socket at its back will turn effective. If you can't select input by this way, the input selector switch; specified above, has the fault, or the input selector IC inside the circuit board is faulty. Just try this after a Hard Reset to this set, and then check. If it do not help you, contact any service technician, or the authorized service center for Toshiba.
There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
Service mode entry, adjust and exit procedure to many popular brand TVs are given. Never forget to exit the service mode, after all adjustments have been done.

My toshiba flatscreen says retail unlock on it an it wont do nothyn.. how i fix it without original remote

You can reset and eliminate the lock on some televisions without the remote.. Hold the power button for five seconds. The television will automatically restart. If the lock is still on, unplug the television and remove the battery from the back panel of the television. Wait several hours before reconnecting the plug and reattaching the battery.

You say you have a Universal remote. If you have not done so yet use the procedures that came with your remote to install it on your Toshiba. After using the install procedures you should at least be able to power on and off the TV.

power the TV on and then do the following:

TOSHIBA specific advertisements or "Retail Lock" at anytime when operating, perform the following procedure:
  1. Using the remote control, press 1, 2, 3, 4 in this order. This will release the "Retail Lock" mode.
  2. Perform a factory reset of the TV
  3. Resetting Factory Defaults:
To reset all settings and channels to their factory default values:
1 Press the MENU button and open the Installation menu.
2 Highlight Reset TV, and then press the ENTER button.
3 Enter your PIN code (If a PIN code has been set).
4 A con?rmation screen appears. Select Yes, and press the ENTER button. The TV will turn off automatically.
Then do the following:
  1. Power on the TV. You will be prompted to perform the first time setup.
  2. Be sure to set the Location option to Home.
  3. Continue with the first time setup.
The "Retail Lock" should be disabled and you can now use all the functions of the TV.

hope that helps

Since most passwords require a number sequence to be entered I doubt it can be done without the original remote and the correct code numbers.

My remote will not work and the tv menu is on the screen and goes through all the diffrent setting options automatically without stopping. TV buttons will not control the menu. Unable to make any setting...

1# First unplug tv,unhook ant.let set overnight.2# Reconect ant.Plug back in.turn tv on with button on tv.let tv run trew all its modes for 5 to 6 hrs.Don`t push any buttons!!!!! It has to reset everything.then try remote, when it starts to work, set new pin code.use your instruction book,to set all blocks to N,,Clear all favorite channels + erase channels in tv 's memory if there in there yet, takes a lot of time.it will keep resetting, remote won't work.let it run awhile. then push exit, hold 5 to 10 seconds remote will eventually come back, check your settings reset them, be sure menu is set to STOP, it may start running threw all its modes again, let run couple hrs, then push exit 5 to 10 seconds to get your remote back.keep trying this. when you think the tv is working right, turn it off for 10 seconds then back on. If it starts resetting, let it run an hr,then push exit again to get your remote back,it has to reset everything, keep trying, took me 3DAYS to get it right!!!!!!!!! the only thing I don't have working is the pic size button,Don't need that anyway. GOOD LUCK.

V-chip code forgotten

I found this to work on my Toshiba TV/VHS combo MV19M4 after trying others suggestions that had worked on similar models but nothing worked on mine. Maybe it will work for yours. Follow these steps:

1: Unplug the TV for 1 minute then plug it back in.
2: In the menu select "TV Set Up".
3: Move the blinking block to beside "V-CHIP Set" BUT DO NOT SELECT IT.
4: Hold in the number 1 button on the remote.
5: Hold in the volume down button on the TV.

Your TV will turn off. Give it a few seconds to reset itself and then turn it back on and you will have to completely reprogram your settings. When you go to the V-CHIP settings it will ask for your new code.
