Camera app comes up cannot connect to camera - Samsung Sch R720 Admire Smartphone

to contact a camera, you need a correct working camera app. If the app you try to use does not work, reinstall the app, or choose another app from the App Store.

This is not a camera, it is a smart phone with a camera. To use the camera part, you have to make sure a camera app is installed and working correct.
If you already have a camera app, try to reinstall the app.

Webcam is actually just a USB connection. Shouldn't need a hardware driver for modern OS. There are generalized apps out there to encode MPEG or AVI, ect. video, but they don't need to be hardware specific. That's where a "standard USB imaging device" driver usually comes in.
