Question about Panasonic Portable Slim Line Cassette Recorder Rq 2104

Open Question

I just bought an old cassette play it's a panasonic slim line player with an orange reddish record button built into the play button. Anyways, I had a blank cassette that i have used before to record stuff onto. So i am sure it is not the tape that i was using that caused this problem. anyways, when you press the record button the play button needs to be pressed down as well anyways when i was finished recording I tried to press the stop button (which is supposed to stay down when you press it. So what is happening is the stop button will not stay down. The record button came back up but the play button has stayed down. The eject/pause will only pause and not eject (it will stay down.) anyways that is pretty much the problem. i forcibly pulled the tape out to try to figure out the problem and i am not able to put it back in. it went back in once but when i pressed play nothing played and i love my cassette player and I just want it to work. so if you know what is wrong please try to help me out.

SOURCE: panasonic dvr d 200 hand camera - the recorded disc doesn't play on regular dvd player

First I must say I have different camera, but in my case I must close the disc session from camera menu, so theat after it dvd could be played in dvd players and after it you can't record on that disk anymore. If you alredy know that, then sorry. I have a problem that some non-scratched in any way disks with data just don't respond at all, but that's another story. All the best.

SOURCE: PV-GS9 mini dv playback problem

I covered several threads that recommended buying a Mini DV cleaner and running it up to 4 times. They also suggested to change to change your video tape as it may have been the cause of the original problem.

These solutions may have worked for many but not me. My camera was becoming progressively worse. It went to blue bars and no sound to no picture at all...just blue. After using a cleaner 4 times I became frustrated to the point I was going to buy a new camera.

However, with the camera still playing, I did the typical guy thing and rolled up my fist and gave it a good hit along side of it. Remarkably it went back to just the blue bars. I hit it again and it went back to a perfect picture. I'm not saying this will work for you and hitting it too hard could make things worse but I was at a point where I didn't care any more and took a chance that paid off.

HOW DO I SET UP MY KENWOOD MINIDISC RECORDER

A MiniDisc recorder would plug into your stereo system just like a regular old cassette recorder would. Line out from deck to line in/play on receiver/amplifier and Line In from deck to "record" / tape line out from amplifier/receiver.

Insert MiniDisc, select Source and you should be ready to hit 'Record' and then 'Play' to start recording.

There is an interlock that prevents accidental recording. You may have to press PLAY and RECORD at the same time.

Kenwood KX-79 CW dual cassette hook up?

Just connect the deck via tape 1 the out of the deck going to the in of the amp. While the out of the amp goes to the in of the deck.

The tape deck itself will automatically choose the player that plays the cassette. One will play the other will be on pause (if you press both play buttons) till the tape stops then the other will play. For recording from tape to tape one deck will be the copy and the other the copier. There should be a dubbing button which you press to record tape to tape. Some models have a high speed dub also. For recording from the amp unless both decks have record buttons you will only be able to record with one deck. Make certain the dub button is not set.

I have an old Pansonic RX-DT680, the model were the speakers detach. Can I record from tape to CD ?

The built in CD is just a player not a recorder and the unit does not have line level outputs to run to an external CD recorder so the answer is unfortunately "no". You could use the high level speaker outputs and "pad" down the outputs to line level using a pair of potentiometers, one for each the left and right channels, if you have any electronic wiring knowledge.

Look in your area for any good cassette player they all can play the c90 tapes. All you have to do is have a cassette player. Large stores that have stereo dept. would be a good place to look where you can also hear them to see the sound quality.

How do I tape to tape

you mean to record?first, you must connect the other unit (if you are using two cassette)by using rca plug or earphone plugs.insert the plugs to audio in or aux(this is the unit that will record).if the other unit doesn't have the output audio, use the earphone out instead.time to record.the recorder must be set to tape/aux,(if you are using a unit with radio setting).then, push the play and record button at the same time.don't forget to put in the blank tape ok.then push play to the unit that you want to be recorded.the square symbol is for stop.the arrows pointing left ,rewind.pointing right, forward.the big arrow pointing right is the play and the button next to it is the record button.
