The photos taken by my camera are fuzzy, unclear

Try to hold the camera more properly. Disable flash if enough light is there. Hold on the capture button for a while and dont move the camera until the captured image is shown on the screen for review.

Brightness of the monitor screen changes when a picture is taken, the final picture looks blurr. Is there any solution?

Are you pressing the shutter button half-way and giving the camera time to lock in the focus before pressing the rest of the way? If not, the good pictures were just luck.

The overall image is out of focus
If Pan focus is being used, the image may be out of focus; use Auto Focus Mode.
Pan focus uses a focus range of several feet, so the image might be blurry but will be captured faster. This could occur in the EX-Z30, EX-Z40, EX-Z50, EX-Z55 and EX-Z57.
If digital zoom was chosen and the image becomes unclear, only use optical zoom, and move closer.

Check the owners manual; hope this helps.

Images are blurred on screen. do i need to replace?

I am not sure what your camera is, however since you are in the Canon powershot A700, I will go with that.
Reasonable, not sure, but not a bad price for the camera you have. Make sure if it is not still under some kind of warranty.
Canon also had a trade-in or trade-up program for refurbished units.

Let's try some things.
Do your menus come up at all and are they clear, not the problem when you look through the lens.
If the screen shows a correct menu, then reset the menus to default. See what happens then.
If the problem still exists, then you need the camera repaired. Canon seems to have given a great price for what you are having repaired. When this is replaced, it will need re-calculation on their equipment.
They probably will check out the rest of the camera to make sure all is okay as well and to specs.
Hope it works.

Pictures unclear

1. Indoor photographs will not come out well unless there is good lighting in the room.

2. This camera has very old technology and is very cheap. It does not have auto focus. It can only focus to two positions: Macro for less that 6 feet and Distant for everything else. Use the focus ring at the front to switch between these two positions.

3. The camera is very slow in recording the image so you must hold it very steady while it takes the shot.

Good luck.

Blurred and distorted view of the subject

Its possible that there is a CCD issue with your camera. I've been reading more and more people are having CCD issues with the S1-IS. The CCD is the part of the camera that captures the image, and usually they distort or do some funky things with the pictures. Its entirely possible they would knock something out of focus.

DIgital capture

Your Canon camera falls in one of the models that had a bad CCD imaging sensor. I do not exactly know how your screen looks like, but try to visit the follow link to read the article that is related to these camera problem, or go to your country's Canon site to find the 'Service Advisories' to learn about Canon's updated comments on their products, new or old. The link that I mentioned above: If you have difficulties finding the related service advisories from the Canon site. Simply find their contact tel. no. and give them a call to find out how they will handle the situation. It's worth the time to do so, as it will be free of charge to get your camera fixed, including both way shipping costs if shippings are required. The link above will bring you to a web page containing sample images of the screens being affected by the bad CCD. Make sure they match the problem of yours before proceeding to the next step. Good luck. Paul
