Question about Panasonic Workio DP-4530 Copier

Crooked Copies Hi. I have a workio dp 4530. I recently changed the toner and when I did, every copy now comes out crooked. The original is straight on the glass and the paper tray is full of paper that is loaded straight. Any ideas?

Re: Crooked Copies

If the Image is straight and not skewed on the paper then the first suggestion is a good one. I would only add to try fresh paper if you have a finisher. Even a little humidity in the paper will catch as it exits.

If the Image is crooked on the paper: Try putting the some paper in the bypass tray and be sure that the paper guides are touching the paper. If the image is still crooked it is certainly in the machine. Then take a look at the leading edge of the paper and see if there is a "dent" on the very edge. This means that something is touching paper as it passes through the machine and is before the image area. If there is no sign that anything is touching paper it may a transfer charge problem though unlikely

if the image is straight when you use the bypass tray then it is most likely a problem with the paper. Take out the paper and fan it to release any static. Also check the tray guides and be sure they touch each edge of the sheet. Then reload the paper about 100 sheets at a time. I would not fill the tray I would just start with the first 100 sheets and test.

Its me again, after the user changed a new toner cartridge after few copies there is a dark back ground in copy.before replacing the toner the copy was perfect pls help me in this problem

Hi, After a few copies, the toner supply unit pulls more toner, which results in dark copies. To fix this, you have to reduce the contrast (to minimum). Also, make sure that there is no excess toner within the toner supply unit.

Pls tell me the life time of the developer powder and do I have to use only original toner

Hi, I have not come across any expiry date of toner/ developer and if it is stored properly in a cool dry place, away from sunlight an excessive heat, it works just fine. Re-filling the toner is always cheaper and costs around 1/4th of the new toner price. So, check for the price of new toner and compare. Genuine toner is always better in terms quality and yield. However, refill can work too.
I have refilled/ refurbished toners myself and had no issues. Properly re-filled/ refurbished cartridge would NOT cause any damage to the printer. So, you may get your toner refilled by some good professional and it would work fine. As for Panasonic Workio DP-4530 and similar copiers, the toner comes in a bottle (which is only a container filled with toner powder) and the toner powder is pulled by the toner supply unit of the copier. I am using HP 9065MFP and refilling caused no issues. I usually refill it after proper servicing and use best available powder and it works absolutely fine.

On DP-2330 my copies come out with lines and looks dirty

Hard to say without knowing how many copies it has done.
Suggest that it may need the mirrors/optics cleaned, may require a new drum, drum blade, fuser web, fuser roller ,developer or may even be non genuine toner.Suggest that a technician has a look at your copier..

Crooked copies

Tighten the fences and guides that hold the paper in place. If the paper is not snug in the tray, it will not pull through straight.

Copies crooked

make sure back stop and side guides are against all edges of the paper in the drawers, ADF edge guides..same thing. does this happen out of all drawers? if so there is a registration roller (long and usually hard rubber) that has to be pressed evenly across to pull paper straight, usually has springs bent around both ends. If it is not drawers or ADF has to be in the path from drawer but before Fuser (hot area) best bet is reg roller.

Paper feeder is not straight

Push the copy button with the cover up and no paper on the glass. Is the light bar straight up and down, or is it crooked? I can't imagine how paper could go thru the machine crooked, but check it out if you can. If the paper is too thin, it may not be getting grabbed by the rollers right.

2nd side crooked

I would have to say that there must be a same piece of paper touching the paper as it is being feed through the duplex ass'y. The best thing to do is to see if the copy gets tilted toward the front or rear of the copy/ copier. You will be able to find where the obstruction is in the dupex path.

Req: Panasonic Workio DP-4530 service manual

In the service mode there might be an automatic fuser and drum cleaning mechanism that could be activated. The fuser web is in the drum section of the unit and when this is coated with toner and the cleaning mechanism is inactive, you could get this problem.

Let me know if you do not know how to get into the service mode of the copier. It normally is pressing the following three buttons simultaneously - Original, Function and the number 3. It may take a few tries before you get the sequence properly. Also, if it requests a password, try 0000 or 00000000 (8 zeros or 4 zeros)
