when listening to the music i downloaded about a year ago it now has funny sounds with the music. But i don't want to lose the music to format it.

- It is a slured or squeeking noise and jumps to other parts of the song on all the music that i have on my mp3

- I think your old MP3 files have become corrupted. This can happen if the player is removed from the computer without doing the 'safely remove hardware' procedure.

Try doing an error check in the drive properties>tools>error checking. Tick both options.

Did you try adding a new track to see if it plays it properly?
