Water is clear but chlorine and copper still low, what I need to do?

The salt generator only works when the pool pump is running. If you want a higher chlorine level, run the pump longer. Also, to keep your chlorine in the pool, be sure to adjust the stabilizer level. (25 ppm for salt systems). As for copper, this level should be 0 at all times

Simple keys to a beautiful clean pool.

There are 3 keys to a clean swimming pool; filtration, circulation and chemistry. Not having the right amount of any one of these keys will soon cause the pool to be dirty. Filtration requires a filter that allows enough flow and catches any particles in the water. Circulation means enough water is circulating. Chemistry is having the chemicals to the right levels in the pool. The most important component to accomplish these keys is the pump. If the pump doesn't work then the filter doesn't work, the water is not circulating and since chlorine feeders need circulation to deliver enough chlorine to the pool, not having a working pump quickly causes the pool to go green.

How long should you run system

Always start high and work your way down...You want to maintain a 3ppm chlorine level..
Start by running a 12hr pump cycle with 10 hrs of chlorination... Check you chlorine level after 2 days and try to hit a target of 3ppm and after that, lower you cycle to maintain that level. For small pools, could be as low as 6 hrs pool pump, with 4 to 5 hrs chlorination??? I hope this helps you.. Good luck..

Have a #320 chlorine dispencer installed along with all new equiptment spring 09., worked fine, kept chlorine level right. Now can not get level to only a trace. Dismantled and re-assembled, all looked...

Thank you for posting your question here on Fixya.com.

Have you checked your water for acid levels to ensure you have enough to maintain your chlorine level? Adding stabilizer (cyanuric acid) helps the chlorine remain in the water longer and if you had to replace much of the water since your chlorine levels were OK you need to add more stabilizer to keep the chlorine in the pool. Have you altered the amount of time the pump runs too? An erosion feeder like yours only adds chlorine when the filter system is running. If you have scaled back the amount of time the equipments runs you will also be adding less chlorine over time than you previously had.

My water was crystal clear when delivered. I added the salt, ran the filter pump for 24 hrs as instructed. Turned on my Intex saltwater pump and within an hour water is green. Cannot find anything on...

I am not impressed at all with these salt water chlorinators.Shock the water and keep the filter running next day add a powdered chlorine.filter still running. check the balance with test strip in about four hours. If chlorine level is good start vacuming the algee off the bottom of the pool. Now throw away the salt generator and stay with the chlorine packs every week to two weeks continue to monitor with test strips

Is a Hayward cl-100 ef chlorinator the right model to use for a 27 foot round above-ground swimming pool. I am having trouble keeping the chlorine level at an adequate level (dips too low) even with the...

The cl100 should do the job. The first thing I would do is check the chemicals. Make sure you have enough stabilizer (cyanuric acid). If it's low your chlorine will not last long at all. Check the ph and alkalinity also. Make sure you are running the pump long enough. the cl100 only adds chlorine when it's running.

How can i determine if my water chlorinator on my well water conditioning system is functioning properly ?

I expect this is a tablet style chorinator, if so look to see if the chlorinator is using chlorine tablets. These chloriantors work off a run time clock tied to the well pump; when the well pump runs the timer within the chlorinator is energized, after a predetermined amount of "run time" the chlorinator drops a tablet. If you feel it is not operating properly I'd bring in a water well professional; remember we are speaking of the aquifer, too much chlorine in your water may affect your neigborhood.
I hope this may have helped,
Tom

No chlorine reading

Salt is sodium chloride, you can only measure salt levels now as your CL (cloride) is bound to a NA (sodium). Table salt =NACL, Your Intex system will tell you if your salt level is too high or too low but your old test equipment for free chlorine will continue to tell you no chlorine as it can't react with the chloride any longer as it is bound to the salt. That is why they tell you you never have to add more because the salt stabilizes it. Your chlorine is there it's bound to the salt. Use the pool it's fine and it makes your water feel really soft! Just keep the salt level right and your fine> It's confusing as they call the unit a chlorine generator! I had the same issue, called Intex and they told me the above.
