If the load is extremely large or heavy it may require more time. If you are using the auto cycle and the clothes are not drying then the sensor may be not operating correctly. Make sure the lint filter is clean and that the exhaust vent duct is not clogged. Check all the way to the outlet. If all is clear then the thermostat may need to be replaced if it is not calling for heat as often as it should. Also check to make sure there is air flow from the vent. If not then the fan/blower may be broken or disconnected from the motor shaft.

If the drier drum is still turning I would suspect a separate fuse is open for the heating element. Checking this may require openning the back cover. It may also be a defective or open heating element.

IF there is heat on every other cycle you have a bad timer. Replace the timer and that should fix ya up.

I believe that it is the thermostat that is bad if it will not heat. It is the piece that supplys electrical heat to the heat coils. 696818 is the whirlpool part number for the thermostat on my stackable unit and it can be purchased online for 10-15 bucks.
