re seating the memory card could fix this issue, however look at back of the desktop and you should see 4 led's (diagnostic led's) the sequence in which the lights glow will let you know what the issue is

SYSTEM RESTORE DOES NOT WORK FROM PREVIOUS CHECKPOINTS. WILL WORK IN SAFE MODE. JIM B.


System restore works best in safe mode in most cases.
It is always advisable to perform a system restore in safe mode, to produce best results.

You had "Floppy disk seek failure" per your comment. Therefore this is not a problem with your hardisk. Your BIOS was configured boot up from Floppy that was why when you booted up it was looking for info from the Floppy, so if it could not find, it was sure to report to you. Just pop something out of your Floppy then you should be OK. Cheer.
