You will have to get that from Simplicity, but having the model # does allow you to identify and buy parts. For example here:

SOURCE: my mower brakes do not work

The adjuster is on the right side just in front of the rear wheel. its the clutch rod / brake rod . you will see a spring on the shaft with two nuts one used to lock the adjustment. loosen the nuts and turn the nuts so the nuts go towards the back of the tractor. keep checking the peddle for brake .

MTD model number 13RL771H029. I purchased it in 2008 with 46" deck. Are all 3 spindles the same part number

I have an operator's manual for an MTD Model Series 760-770 Lawn Tractor. This Manual seems to indicate two different part numbers for the spindles on a 46" deck. One spindle is a Double Pulley, part number 618-04134B. The other two spindles are single pulley, part number 618-0240A.

However 760-770 is a series number. So this does not necessarily match your machine. The first question is what year is your Lawn Tractor? Following is a discussion of MTD serial numbers from 1997 till now. Pre 1997 is a different discussion.

The second question is what is your actual Model Number?

Locating Your Model and Serial Numbers

The model and serial numbers are essential to find correct MTD® genuine factory replacement part numbers for your outdoor power equipment. Once you know these numbers, you can use either the illustrated parts look-up tool or the operator's manual download to easily search for the correct part numbers needed.

What should my model and serial number look like?

MTD's current (1997 and later) model and serial numbers are generally 11 characters in length. A character could be a number, dash or a letter. If 0 represented all numbers and/or dashes and X represented all letters, the model and serial numbers should appear as follows: 00XX000X000.

These are made of both letters and numbers, and typically look like this: 11AA111A111.

What type of engine is in the murray lawn mower model # 226110x92a ?

Murray is part of the B&S Power Products Group -- I think that happened in 2004 with the Simplicity purchase, so it's a safe bet that anything from that point on has a B&S engine.

According to the model number, it should be a 2003 model year, or somewhere thereabouts. Looking at my manual for that mower, they built them with a variety of engines, including the B&S Classic, Quantum, Sprint and Quattro models, as well as several Tecumseh models.

If you will post the full engine model and serial numbers, I can tell you what you've got. Note that some engines will have the numbers on a tag mounted to the enine, while others will have the number embossed or stampen on the engine - often on castings or sheet metal parts. Post all of the info on the engine tag or stamping.

If you look at the manual you should be able to narrow down the year by the serial no.

Craftsman LT 1000 with Briggs and Stratton 20 OHV V-Twin Engine 42 inch cut model number 917271910 What year model tractor do I have?

lift your seat and look at the label that you got your model number from. to the right of the model number is the serial number. the first six digits of the serial number is the date your tractor was made - for example: serial no. 060802D002756 would make the unit made June 8, 2002
