Question about Marantz CDR631 CD Recorder
I place master into Deck A, CD-R music blank into Deck B, put synchro on high, but NO AUDIO comes up in window, so I can't make copies of my master
'No audio' comes up when you use the wrong type of cdr in the drive. You need a 'consumer audio' or 'music' specific CDR and not a generic computer cdr to use in these units.

Try using "Music" CD-Rs instead of the regular cd-rs...see this link http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.jsp?CATID=304541&navAction=jump&navCount=1&skuid=sku398314&id=prod398313

'no audio' means you are not using a consumer cdr.

I was able to record from a tape deck at one time. Now for some reas on I'm not able to. I really think I might've switched the patch cords. Or I'm not hitting the correct buttons. Would you be able to refresh my memory and also tell me in detail how the patch cords need to be as apposed to the amplifier/reciever? Thank you for your help

Previous suggestion is for computer cdr setup and not even slightly relevant here.
O.P needs to source 'consumer audio' blank cdrs for his machine, it will NOT record to a computer CDr.

Try to save them to windows media or some other program on your hard drive, then burn them using just one of your drives that is cdr. might work easier that way.

A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Are you copying a disc you have previously recorded? SCMS will prevent this.
'No disc'on the CDR deck usually means the laser is faulty. Can you hear it spin the disc? When you open the tray has the disc been rotated? The sony's laser is usually reliable. Sony US may have a fixed price repair or you can have a look yourself. I have the service manual should you need it.
