Try blowing out the area with a can of dust buster. Sometimes you have to carefully pull the key off and see if a piece of particle fell under it. It usually snaps back into place but pull it off carefully.

Function key not working

If you mean the Fn key - then you have to go to a repairman.
If you mean F1 to F12, then press & hold Fn and press the F1 to F12 depending on what you need to acomplish.

I managed to lock my FN key and i dunno how to unlock it. Please help

Function Keys can be unlocked by using combination of Function (FN) key and any other key. Generally they are the F keys right on the top from F1 to F12.

Most often the following combinations work:

1) Fn + F6
2) Fn + Num Lock
3) Holding Fn for a while
4) Fn + F8
5) Ctrl + Fn
6) Shift + Fn

Please, all most at all times the function keys from F1 to F12 are marked and indicated about what they do. The marking is pointed by a small icon just under the name of the Function key.

How do l unlock my cursor my son pressed FN F1 to lock it

Hi!

To unlock it you can use also Fn combinations.

First try again Fn F1.
If that does not solve the ptoblem, Fn F9 or Fn F10 will do the job.

Presario v2000

Try this; Press Fn+F1 instead of F1 alone or Fn+\F2 not only F2. Most laptops are by default Fn key activated so we always need to press it with the key combination.
If this doesn't help, there must be internal faulty/problem. Boot up the system and keep pressing F8 and go into "Advanced Boot options", if it's working, then there's no hardware, must be the Fn key.
Good luck

Laptop hp nx6320 keyboard f2 key is only working. f1 and f10 key is not responding so that I can't save memory upgradation option nor open the setup.

Have you tried "Delete" to enter the "Bios Settings"? If not this must be the shortcut for your laptop, since most compaqs' Bios settings are accessed with "del" key. Actually for Hp compaq laptops, F1, F2, F10 and Delete keys are the shortcuts. (varies with series/models).
If this doesn't help, try Fn+F1, Fn+F2, Fn+F10 etc..

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.
