Question about Danze 1 1/2'' Touch Down Drain DANZE D495080BN

1 Answer

The Danze touchdown stopper can be pushed down and it does not leak. It also will not pop back up no matter what, unless you can thumb-screw it backwards to get the stopper lid off. The rubber gasket seems to hold down and the spring that pushes the stopper up and works with the lid off but when you push it with the lid on, it just stays down. We have been sent at least 3 replacement assemblies for 4 of these in our house and they all do it. Even plumbers have tried to figure it out and are stumped. Please help us, we dare not use any of these stoppers because we can't get them back up.

This happened to mine too. I took it apart ( removed the whole part, then removed the cap ) clicked it a few times, stuck it back in, and it's worked fine ever since.
I'm going to say that it may be either a manufacturer thing, or perhaps there's some sort of build up going on.
Either way, you could try doing what I did, or contact Danze and ask for a refund. Maybe a different brand would be in order?

Belle Foret pop-up drain stopper won't release

The drain should be able to pop up after vigorous pushing down on it. When you get it released, you will find it is clogged with goo. You will have to disassemble the pop-up (remember the order of disassembly) and clean all the moving parts then reassemble it.

Touchdown stopper will not pop back up

The spring-loaded stopper mechanism may be clogged with hair, soap, and "gunk". Repair consists of removing the assembly, disassembling it (remembering the disassembly order of parts), cleaning all parts, and reassembling, testing, and reinstallation. Periodic maintenance will keep your stopper operating like new.

I can not close my bath tub drain. the plunger is all internal and wont come out either. I tried a coat hanger to push it down. no go.

on most tubs the stopper is made to come out! does the stopper have 2 screws at the stopper lever. if it does just remove these screws and pull the stopper out slowly. when putting in a new one. have the same length as the old one, then slide it back in the drain fairly slow until it goes all the way in. replace screws and try it! good-day!

Sink pop up waste won't close

When you pull out the stopper is it completely intact? there should be a hole at the bottom of the stopper were a rod goes through. That moves on an axis pulling and pushing the stopper up and down as you pull and push the lever. You have to make sure you get the rod in that hole for the pop-up to work. You can google pop up assembly and look for an diagram. good luck

Bathroom sink stopper came unhooked and out, not attached anymore

You will need to get under there and unscrew the popup rod located on the back of the drain. pull out the rod, drop the stopper in there and push the rod through the hole in the bottom of the stopper. screw the nut back on.
