Re: ipod background

You dont want to go and put all types of 3rd party applications on your ipod. "****" your ipod with all that can cause malfunction. Plus making it difficult to read the already small screen size...keep it simple, clean and working.

How do you change your background on your Coby mp828?

Hi sauerbrood2,

Changing the background is quite simple ,

All you need to do is Go in the settings option and then click on the background and then scroll down and then you can choose the back ground for yourself.

Hope that helps ..:) Let me know in case you have any queries , your feedback would be appreciated.

How to Change Your iPod Background ...

How to Change Your iPod Background
With a bit of tweaking, the Apple iPodmag-glass_10x10.gif can be customized in a variety of ways, from the outer covering to the screen fonts. If you're tired of the background, you can use a program called iPod Wizard and some hacked firmware to change how your screen looks. The process isn't very difficult and it doesn't take long to complete. And once you've figured out how to do it, you can change the background to anything you want, whenever you want.

Things You'll Need:
  • Computer with a Windows operating system
  • iPod
  • Data cable
  • iPod Wizard
  • iPod background firmware
  1. Step 1 Turn on the iPod and connect the data cable to the iPod and the computer. Start up iTunesmag-glass_10x10.gif. Choose your iPod and then click on the box in the "Options" section that says "Enable Disk Use" and click on "Apply." Disconnect the iPod from the computer when you're finished.
  2. Step 2 Download iPod Wizard, which can be found on the forum page, and install it on your computer.
  3. Step 3 Download iPod background firmware from and save it to your desktop or in another place that's easy to remember (you don't want to lose the firmware before you can use it to alter the background on the iPod).
  4. Step 4 Start up iPod Wizard and connect the iPod to the computer. IPod Wizard should indicate that it has located the iPod.
  5. Step 5 Click on the drop-down box beside "Edit Mode" and click on "Firmware File." Click on "Open Firmware" and navigate to the location where you saved the iPod background firmware. Click on "Open" when you've found the firmware.
  6. Step 6 Click on "Write," and then when it's done, click on "Write to iPod." Click on "OK" to make all confirmations and allow the firmware to be written to the iPod.
  7. Step 7 Disconnect the iPod and reset it. The resetting may take awhile, but when the iPod finally starts up, your screen will be different.
jQuery('.article ol .image').each(function(i,e){ var $this = jQuery(this); $this.find('img').error(function(){ jQuery(this).remove(); $this.remove(); }); });

The security lock is on my ipod nano and i dont know the password. we have tried to restore it but it wont work. what can we don

Here are a few things you could try.

1) Connect your iPod to the primary computer you use it with (the first one iPod synced with), and open iTunes. When you disconnect your iPod from the computer, it should no longer be locked.

2) go to the hidden folder ipod_control on the ipod then go to device folder and delete the _locked file. Note this will only unlock the ipod but you will not be able to put in a new code until you restore the ipod.
e.g (ipod drive)\ipod_control\device\

3) You can restore your iPod to factory settings using iPod Updater. This will erase all data on your iPod (so ideally you want to try 1 then 2 first)! Then, you can add your music and data back to your iPod - providing you have your data backed up of course.

The ipod is only showing the apple logo with a black background when i try to reset it it returns back to the apple logo with a black background what do i do?

I would hold the menu and center button at the same time until you get an error from itunes that the recovery software is downloading

then restore the ipod

if this dose not work it is probably a hard ware issue and you need to get the ipod repaired

Hi Viper_nx,

To reset the password is very simple provided you have the pc with the iTunes you normally connect the ipod to. Here goes:
  • Plug the ipod into the PC using the USB cable as normal
  • Once the ipod main page comes up on iTunes click the button labelled 'Restore'
  • Choose which ever is the bottom option (if it gives you any)
  • It will restart itself 1 or 2 times. Don't touch it at all during all of this but follow any onscreen instructions. It may want to resync and re-put all you media back onto the ipod.
When it's done, eject it and all settings on the iPod will be set to the defaults. This means the password will be reset to 'off'.

All the best

Forgot unlock code

Reset the ipod. Commonly easy. If you do not know how to reset, follow the steps.

1.) Put your USB into the computer. Make sure you also have the latest itunes program!!!

2.) Go to the summary of the ipod. Click Restore.

Because it has to restore, you will lose everything on your ipod. Be sure to back up any files. After it restores, you can put it back to normal.

3.) Wait a couple of minutes. Remember, do not remove off the USB, until it finishes the setup.

4.) Put your name on to your ipod and remember not to sync music!

It should be back to normal!

NOTE: It is easier to pick a easy code, if you rather don't do this. Then just leave it.
