Question about Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3 Digital Camera

1 Answer

My movies will not playback (on camera) on my Panasonic Lumix ZS7 BUT I can see the movie when I place the SD card directly to the computer. The SD is not on lock mode and it's a Class 4. I have tried other SDs as well. What could be the problem? Thank you.

Please make sure you first press the "Green Arrow" button and then the "Top" button of the control wheel. You don't press the same "Left" button that you use for still pictures. If you're doing this correctly already then playback on the camera may need to be looked at by service.

SOURCE: SDHC Memory Card

Class 6 and 10 cards are high speed cards suitable for videos....they write fast and don't get hung up. With that said, I use a Sandisk class 2 and a class 4 and have never had a problem with either one.

While still in clipboard mode, go into the menu and find "copy" where you will find the option to copy the clipboard to a memory card. Once there, you can download to your computer as you normally do.

My Lumix DMC ZS7 reads "insert sd card again" when I have a full sd card inserted. The sd card is "verbatim sdhc 4gb" any idea? Thanks in advance

SD and SDHC cards fit the same slots, but they are slightly different electrically. Many cameras won't work with SDHC (high capacity) cards. SDHC is not backwards compatible.

If your manual doesn't specifically mention SDHC cards or memory card size bigger than 2GB, then the camera almost certainly won't work with SDHC. My Lumix won't work with anything larger than 1GB SD.

You need a class 6 card for smooth video. A class 4 sometimes works but a class 6 always works. Stick with the name brands.

Do not try to use the same card from another camera. You run the risk of losing all your pics and possibly corrupting the card and the camera. Download any pics from the card to the computer using a separate card reader if necessary. Then, if you want to use the card in your new camera, format it in the camera first.

Downloading the video to apple computer

Hi, I have the same camera :)
I use windows.
But I believe the procedure is same.
If using SD card reader in your laptop: Open the SD card and download the movie files.
This camera stores a thumbnail (which is a picture of the movie file) and a .mov (Quicktime movie) for each movie you click.
Here is the manual for the camera http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/DMCFZ7.PDF

cheers,
