Electolux hoover 1600w power plus wont start

John, first off, you have a Hoover upright vac, not an Electrolux. If it won't start, check cord to be sure it's plugged in properly to a live socket, then find and push reset button, frequently found near the corner on the rear of the base. (Small red circle). If that fails,. then you need to take it to the nearest repair shop for diagnosis.

Bissell vacuum shut off and will not turn on again

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

If your vacuum doesn't turn on, make sure that plug is fully inserted into a fully functional electronic outlet. If it still not turning on after verifying this, it could be that the power switch is malfunctioning. You may need to replace the power switch by opening up the handle of your vacuum. I suggest referring to your manual on how to replace the power cord or contact Bissell for troubleshooting steps. 1-800-237-7691.

How do I take about my Dyson DC11 to replace the retractable power cord assembly

While it doesn't require a collection bag, a Dyson-brand vacuum cleaner can still suffer the problems of wear and tear that are prone to any vacuum cleaner--for example, a frayed power cord. If the power cord of your Dyson vacuum cleaner has become frayed, change it immediately to avoid a dangerous electrical mishap. You will need a replacement cord from an electronics service center, along with a few common household tools. You do not need electrical skills to complete the task.
Follow this steps on how to replaced the power cord assembly:

1 Unplug the Dyson vacuum cleaner's power plug from the wall outlet. Press the button on the top front of the plastic collection cover. Lift the cover off the front of the vacuum cleaner and place it aside.

  • 2 Trace the power cord to where it enters the back bottom of the vacuum cleaner. Remove the screws from the panel surrounding the power cord with a Phillips screwdriver. Remove the panel. Aim the beam of a flashlight inside the compartment so that you can see where the wires at the end of the power cord wrap around two screws on the motor assembly. Loosen these screws with a Phillips jeweler's screwdriver.

  • 3 Pull the power cord out of the compartment and dispose of it properly. Strip a 1/2 inch of insulation from the ends of the two wires of the replacement power cord. Run the wires into the compartment along the path of the original power cord--pushing the wires into the grooves inside the compartment.

  • 4 Tie a knot on the cord on the inside of the compartment to prevent the cord from being pulled out.

  • 5 Wrap the exposed end of each wire of the power cord around the loosened screws. Tighten the screws. Replace the panel and reattach the screws. Stand the vacuum cleaner right side up. Place the bottom of the plastic collection cover into the bottom front slot on the vacuum cleaner. Push the cover back on the front of the vacuum cleaner.

How do you disassemble the handle to replace the power cord. I've removed the handle from the body of the vacuum, but don't want to break any plastic covers trying to pry them off to access the power cord...

bad news to you.(don't get mad at me please). 2 prong means is a "DOUBLE INSULATED" vacuum. any electrical repairs are not recommendable other by a shop because after repairs they have to test for grounding with a special meter to prevent electirical shocks. for that reason I personally can not give advice on how to do it. if you want to take the risk, well.... good luck to you. I do this for your safety and ours. I hope you understand my position.

Clogged sweeper filters changed and hose cleaned, but no dirt collecting in the bag. I am no sure what do do next

You have a rubber flap in the dust collection bin that may have been pulled out causing the collection bin to close when vacuum tries to pass through. Try pushing the flap back in to see if that's the cause of your vacuum loss. To test if this is the cause try turning the cleaner on and feel the outlet leading into the removable bin to see if there is any air flow. If there is no air flow, unplug the vac and run a coat hanger through the inlet tube to find and clear any obstructions. Then take the vacuum outdoors, plug it in and turn it on to clear any dust or debris left in the vacuum chamber.

My Bissell vacuum cleaner won't turn on.

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

One of the possible causes that your Bissell won't start is that power cord may not be firmly plugged in so you may need to check electrical plug. You may also want to check or replace the fuse or reset the breaker in case there is blown fuse or tripped breaker.

Small Filter at bottom of cannister may be clogged. Not letting enough suction draw dirt down.
