I'm going to start at the beginning-disconnect water supply from machine-run each one into bucket or wash tub to make sure supply is good and strong-make sure the little screens in the machine water valve(this is where you connect the hoses) are clean-if they have had build up(rust-scale) and machine still doesn't fill you have a bad water valve-replacing it is relatively easy-cheers Denny

Dishwasher is not cleaning and soap is not dissolving.

The first and most likely issue is blocked spray arms or a blocked filter. Unclip the spray arms from the machine and ensure every hole is clear of debris. to clear the arms out, gently poke them clear, then submerge the arm in water, lift it out and, tip the arm to the left so water and debris run out of the hole, then to the right. Do this LOTS of times, resubmerging to fil with water then tipping left and right and shaking slightly to get water and debris to run out of the centre hole. Continue this until, when you lift the arm out of the water and tip ot vertical, you can see water runs unobstructed from the lowest hole in the arm. If there us anything there, go back to submerging, then tipping left and right again until the arm is completely clear. Next, take the filters out of the bottom of the machine and clean them until they are spotless (If you're scared to lick them, they're not clean enough, so keep cleaning them until they are!). Replace filters and arms and try again. ALSO check that the heater is working in the machine. Simply open the door mid cycle (Carefully!) The machine will stop washing and you can check if the water is hot. Close the door back up again. Some machines will wait 20 seconds or so then restart automatically, some (Particularly some Bosch models) will need you to press the start button to get them to resume the wash.

Water leaks from machine during use. Have checked filter on right near base is clear.

Sounds like the water pump is going bad or a hose is leaking. Replace the water pump which in most cases are not, too costly. Most water pumps can be replaced from the bottom of the machine. If you can not find the part # on the water pump, look it up by the model # of the machine.

Dyson animal is giving me fits

Hi,

Try this quick repair and see if this fixes your Dyson in terms of not going in the upright position: This is a frequent problem that we see come in on Dysons. If this doesn't fix it, please feel free to just use the clarification request and let me know this didn't fix it. The suction problem is happening because when the machine is put in the upright position it diverts the suction from the floor to the hose automatically, and it's probably stuck in between the lower part and the hose part.

Step 1.
Turn power off and unplug the machine.
Tilt the machine backward to a 45° angle.

Step 2.
  • Hold the section under the airway inspection pipe.
  • The black forward lock button must be held down simultaneously, otherwise the valve carriage will not move.
  • Pivot this section upwards until it clicks into place.
  • Release the black button once the valve pipe carriage is moved up into place.

    Step 3.

    • Tilt the machine forward.
    • The cleaner head should now slide underneath the part you have just clicked into place.
    • The machine should now stand upright.

In terms of the machine not picking up, this could be caused by a few things.

The first thing you should check is the filter. The DC14 has a motor filter that is recommended to be washed every 90 days. Here's how to access this filter:

    • To remove the washable filter: Remove the clear bin; and cyclone top from your machine by pressing the cyclone release button.
    dc14_cyclone_removal_01.gif
    • Lift clip to remove the filter from the machine.*
    dc14_filter_removal_01.gif dc14_filter_removal_02.gif
*The post-motor filter located under the clear bin should last the lifetime of the machine and does not need to be washed.

There are two different types of filters that were used on the Dyson DC14, and One part filter, and a two part filter. Here's instructions on how to clean both of them:

    ONE PART FILTER:
    • Wash the filter in cold water only. (Please do not use detergent, do not wash in a dishwasher or washing machine).
    • Repeat the steps shown below until the water runs clear.

    • Wash the filter in cold water only. (Please do not use detergent, do not wash in a dishwasher or washing machine).

    • Repeat the steps shown below until the water runs clear.

    • Leave to dry in a warm place for 24 hours. DO NOT dry the filter inside a clothing dryer, hair dryer, microwave the filter, place the filter in an oven, or near a naked flame.
    • Please ensure the filter and filter case are completely dry before refitting into the machine.
    1_part_filter_drying.jpg TWO PART FILTER:
    filter_2.jpg
    • Wash the filter in cold water only. Please DO NOT use detergent on the filter, or wash the filter in a dishwasher or in a washing machine.
    • Repeat the steps shown below until the water runs clear.
    • Leave the filter to dry in a warm place for 12 hours, until completely dry.
    • DO NOT dry the filter inside a clothing dryer, hair dryer, microwave the filter, place the filter in an oven, or near a naked flame.
    dc14_filter_01.gif dc14_filter_05.gif dc14_filter_06.gif
The filter should be washed at least once every 6 months.

Also, since you have removed the bottom plate, a common problem on the Dyson's is when this plate is reinstalled. It is very easy to put the plate on incorrectly, which prevents the brushes from hitting the carpeting. This can seriously decrease the pick up on carpets. Check the bottom plate to make sure that it was put back on properly. Here's pictures of both the correct, and incorrect way to reinstall the bottom plate:

Here's a picture of the WRONG way to install the bottom plate. Notice the gap in between the two housings:

    9739790.jpg
Here's another picture, that is the RIGHT way to install the soleplate:

    8b953d0.jpg
I would say probably 6 times out of 10 this is the problem with the customers machine. If you checked the soleplate and it is installed correctly, move on to the second possible problem.

I hope that this was helpful to you. Please feel free to use the Clarification Request form here on Fixya if you have any questions.

    Thank you,

I have a Bosch Maxx condenser tumble dryer that wont work.

Have you taken the condenser itself out from the bottom of the machine? Remove the condenser from the bottom door and rotate the clamp tags which secure it in. Slide condenser out (aluminium mutli-finned box assembly) and carefully take it outside. Use a garden hose with lots of water pressure to spray each vent passage carefully to clear lint and dust away. Passages must be cleared in both directions, long ways and cross ways. Cross ways is the problem area and once you finish clearing the air ways you should see daylight through the condenser easily. Reassemble and always clear lint filter in the door /drum area.
    Good luck.

Cold water just trickles in. Water flow up to the

Hello, this is going to be a problem with your inlet valve, First thing to do is remove the inlet hoses from the valve and check the filter screen on both the hot and cold for debris blocking the water coming into the machine. If this is clear then your going to have a blockage inside the valve. Since these valves are factory sealed your not going to be able to clear the blockage, you should replace the valve. Hope this helps...Thanks for using fixya!!! Good Luck!! Mike

    Water filter replacement Kitchenade KCM200

If the water filter is a mesh type, you don't have to replace it. Line it in a sink of hot water, bicarbonate of soda and vinegar. This should clear it of any dirt attached to the filter.
Alternatively google the company and customer services for the user manual.

Check to make sure that the filters in the water valves are not clogged up.  Go behind the machine, turn off the water supply and disconnect the hoses on the machine side.  Look inside the water valves and check the filter screens to make sure they're clean.  Get a large bucket and open the water valve to clear out the hoses and make sure you have good water flow coming out of the hoses.  If both of those situations are cleared up, your machine should work properly.

My washing machine it stop when is get to rinse and spin stage

    Hi shehe,
It would help to know the brand and model to give you the beast possible advise. But with the limited information I have I would recommend that you check your pump filter and your drain.
On most front load washing machines they have a filter that you can unscrew and remove from your drain pump. Be ready to catch some water if you take the filter out. If the filter is dirty or clogged just clean it out and get back to washing.
If the filter is clear you may have an obstruction in your drain, clear the drain and the washer should be able to pump out the water again. If both are clear and it is still not pumping out, check voltage to the pump. If you have voltage and its not pumping then you have a bad pump. Good luck and please send more information if you have more questions. Good luck Mike Anderson

It means you have an airlock in the water system. It can occur when you refill the water tank also.
Quite often you can run the hot water nossle untill the airlock clears. You will hear it splatter and then it should be sweet to go.
