How do I lock my Toshiba Satellite L500 laptop

You can put a Power On Password of your Toshiba, this will prevent unauthorized access to youe laptop. If you forget this password then you will have problems unlocking your Toshiba.
The Power on Password is configured in the BIOS under sercuity settings.
You can also put a password on the hard drive and if your Toshiba is stolen and they remove the hard drive out of your Toshiba into another laptop they cannot get access to the data on your hard drive.
NOTE if you forget the hard disk password you will not be able to access your hard disk.

I forgot my power on password for my Toshiba Labtop

The power-on password cannot be removed -- this is a "security" feature to prevent a thief from using your lappptop, after stealing it from you.

Find the original sales-receipt, to prove that you are the owner, and telephone Toshiba, and ask them for assistance.

Lost power on password toshiba portege 4000

Hello,

The only solution is to take the computer to a Toshiba Authorized Service Center to have the password reset. If you have registered ownership of the computer with Toshiba they will be able to help you for a fee.

Hope it helps.

Password

If you are talking about the BIOS password then you are probably out of luck since many Toshiba's use EEPROM password storage which means you can't reset it by removing all power (CMOS Battery). If it is an XP Password look into Samurai Password Removal Tool.
