You need to ensure that the drivers are correctly installed, go to the manufacturer's website, download & install the latest drivers, Then go into Device manager, and look for any items in "other devices", delete these devices and try to redetect, (check for changes)

Are you using EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE, which means the hard drive is in a box, and you connect it to computer with USB cable? If so, do the following
1. Try to plug and unplug and plug USB cable at the port on computer. 2. While plugged in, try to shake the plug a little. 3. Try to plug the USB cable to USB port at the back of the PC case, not the port at the front 4. Check the usb cable, buy a new one, or borrow one (its cheap) 5. Still does work? bring it to Customer service, there must be an error on the box itself.

How to install it

Install the disc that came with the camera in the computer. If it did not come with one, do the following: 1. Verify you can connect to the Internet with your computer. 2. Shut down your computer. 3. Connect the webcam to the USB port. 4. Start-up the computer. 5. Allow Windows to detect the camera. As soon as it is detected, Windows will try to locate the driver. If prompted to search the Internet for the driver, select "yes, go online to find it" (something to that effect). 6. As soon as it locates one, it will download into your computer. Allow it to finish and then follow the instructions at the prompts.

I plug my camera into my computer and my computer won't find it .

If the camera is not detected by the computer what you can try here is to try connecting the camera on a different USB port and check if it will be detected , but if still not detected if possible for you to try a different USB cable that will be better or if possible also try to connect the camera on a different computer so we can isolate the problem if its just the USB cable , the USB port or the camera itself that is bad...

You may have a defective USB cable. Try a different cable, or try plugging the cable into a different USB plug on your computer. If neither of these work, the camera may have a defective USB plug on the camera. Double check that the camera is turned on. If all else fails, you can copy the photo files by removing the memory card from the camera and putting it in a card reader built into your computer, your printer, or use a separate memory card reader. You can buy them at most camera and computer stores - they are inexpensive, usually less than $20.
