SOURCE: evaporative cooler not getting water from water line

If you are not getting water to your cooler, check your water valve where is connected to supply line. Check your supply tubing for kinks. Check your float for a bent rod or internal stoppage. Here in El Paso TX we have a lot of lime and calcium in our water that can cause blockages

SOURCE: I have just installed a Bionair Evaporative

check the float assembly. wiggle it up and down. is water dripping there? if so, you know water is getting that far, you need to unplug the plugged area.. Also check the water line and ensure no shut-off valves are turned off.

I have a Taiwan evaporated cooler, 120 vac 60 Hz 85 w. Does this unit cost a lot of electricity to run, or is it fairly energy efficient

evaporative coolers use a principle of blowing air though a filter that is water moist
the air passing through the water uses a heat exchange process as the water boils off, the air is cooled and so you get cooler air
very efficient in places where the humidity is under 80% but over that the water doesn't evaporate all that readily and so the effectiveness is reduced
basically the hotter the day and the lower the humidity the more efficient they are.
Cheap --yes as it only runs a small motor for the fan and an even smaller motor for the water pump, but you will need a regular water supply some units have a small tank which needs regular filling and others can be connected to the home water supply
it is not an air conditioner , simply an air cooler.

I need a manual for a Hotpoint evaporative cooler; model VC1200

Try going to Hotpoint.com, or if made by another and private labeled that should be available, google it.

Companies often publish user, and sometimes even a service manual as a .pdf

Sunpentown Air Cooler SF-608R

When you say filled with ice/ water, is it just an evaporative cooler? in which case it is really only a fan. If it is a proper a/c unit, try emptying the bin you have filled up and try again. Most a/c units have a water bin that fills and switches off the unit by a float switch until you empty it and it runs again. Let me know how you get on!

Master cool not cooling. Outside air is dry and temp between 100 and 108. Fan working, water pump working. Water pan is full. Water flowing to top of padPad gets wet but only lightly. Air from cooler...

I would bet that the problem lies in what you said about the pad. It needs to be well-soaked for the evaporative effect of the unit to do its job.

You give no model, but if you disassemble the unit (only the top panel) at the water distribution tube and expose it you can see what's going on. Water flow will be minimal.

The tube disconnects from the water supply tube at one end.

Disconnect it and, carefully since it's plastic, clear debris out of the distributor.

If it's like mine, it will have a fair amount of scale built-up in it. Once clear, re-assemble and start the unit.

Just purchased a DeLonghi ev200 this afternoon, filled it up with water, switched it on and still not any cooler, if not hotter....please help, what am I doing wrong.

What yo describe sounds like a swamp cooler, which requires LOW HUMIDITY to actually work. The process of evaporation causes cooling.

If your humidity is not low enough, then you actually RAISE the humidity, and that makes your environment more uncomfortable.

The issue sounds like a physics issue and not the unit that you bought.... My thoughts is that if you live in a higher relative humidity area, units like yours should not be sold..... If you cannot actually evaporate, you will not cool.

Our fan on our brivis evaporative cooler is not working. The pump to fill it with water is working and the fuse is fine. what else could it be - the unit is on the roof and I can not get to it.
