Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main board.
If the TV is under warranty period, LG is responsible to make it right. It is not a defect caused by you.

My lg tv keeps turning off & on

First of all, thank you very much for choosing FIXYA today for your technical support needs.

Often times this symptom is the result of a failing power supply circuit in your TV, although there are certainly a number of other possible causes.

If your warranty is still valid, then you should definitely contact your dealer / place of purchase and arrange for a refund, exchange, or no cost repair service. If the already warranty is expired, then you have other options available as well.

One fairly easy way to troubleshoot this symptom yourself is to first unplug the set, and then remove the rear access panel on the TV to check the power supply circuit board located inside. Look for any scorched / bulging / leaking electrolytic capacitors on that circuit board. If you see any evidence of this, then you might want to consider replacing the power supply circuit board with a new one, since this is the most often the source of the trouble.

Here are some links to images which show what faulty capacitors often look like:

You can usually find replacement circuit boards online by searching for your TV's model number.

Here is a link to a replacement POWER SUPPLY BOARD for your LG model 32LG30 TV currently available on Ebay for about $59 US plus shipping:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/LG-TV-32LG3DC-UA-32LG30DC-UA-Power-Board-EAY40504401-/120732123528?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c1c320188

Just use your mouse to click on the link, which is the underlined and highlighted text just above. This will open a new web browser page automatically for you and allow you to view the information and items at the website indicated.

The repair / replacement procedure is not extremely difficult if you have some basic electrical safety knowledge and some basic electronics / mechanical repair skills.

You will need to first unplug the power cord from the unit, lay the TV screen side down on something soft and flat like a bed if necessary, and then remove the rear access panel or the entire rear cover as required in order to access the circuit boards inside.

When you remove the rear cover and access the circuit boards inside, just check the part number that is printed right on your currently fitted circuit board, and confirm that it exactly matches the one provided in the online listing. Also make sure that any part you order is labelled "TESTED WORKING" in the condition description. Any part with a condition description of "AS IS" is probably faulty as well.

Then just unclip and remove the various electrical wire connectors leading to the power supply circuit board. Then remove the screws securing the circuit board to the TV frame and then remove the power supply circuit board itself. Be sure to avoid touching any large capacitors on the circuit board which can retain a nasty electrical charge and still cause injury even after the unit is unplugged.

Then just screw in the new power supply circuit board and connect all the wire bundles to their appropriate connectors on the new circuit board and then replace the rear cover. Then plug in the power cord and test out your TV.

If you are not comfortable conducting this level of repair procedure yourself, then you will probably need to contact your local TV repair shop to arrange for service.

I hope that was helpful to you, good luck.

Joe.

may be a bad fan motor or loose wire, however some units have dip switch settings on the circuit board preventing the fan from coming on.
