If your laptop appears to boot up and the hard disk LEDflashes, then the problem is probably a back light fault. This can be a faultyinverter or a faulty CCFL lamp. There might be a function key that works with the intensity key...you might try finding those two keys and hold down one while tapping the other

Where is the Number Lock key on a Dell Latitude E6510?


The NumLock key
should be just above the number 7 on the numbers pad to the right.
