Thanks, sonic boom electronics, for the idea to shove the garden hose up there. Our hose is nice and narrow and it worked perfectly! I pushed it through one end and started feeling resistance, and kept on shoving and when the hose reached the other end, it was pushing out the plastic bag. Whew!

Blockage in dc23 hose

Well you can do it the costly way or you can do it the not so costly way.A.take it to the company you bought it from or,B. open a clothes hanger, straighten it all the way out, remove the bigger hook,by bending back and forth till it comes off, discard it. Now take one end an make a small hook, drive it up into the hose and try to hook the bags end with the hook on the hanger..Remember the hook has to be bent in a hook shape for this to work. Please unplug your vaccum.

Can you disconnect the hose from both ends of the unit?
I generally push a broom handle down a clogged hose, and second broom handle if needed!

You can also attach a shop vac hose to the shop vac exhaust and blow it out using the exhaust of the shop vac.

Maybe you sucked up a dryer sheet or plastic bag. Empty the unit completely and look at all the possible portals where items have to travel through.

There is a clog in the bottom hose how can i get to it? I have the DC28

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

If the internal hose in your DC28 is blocked, you can remove the hose as shown in the video below. The hose has a push-fit design at each end, and should disconnect when you grip the plastic cuffs and pull with a firm, constant force. Once the hose is removed it should be easy to remove the blockage using the eraser end of a pencil or something similar. Please take care not to damage the hose as you do so.

You might also find our online Support guide useful in clearing the blockage: http://content.dyson.com/support/help.asp?article=1231&product=DC28-ANIMAL

I hope this helps. If you'd like any further guidance from our experts, please email us at askdysonUS@dyson.com, and we'll be in touch as soon as possible.

Best wishes,

Jack

Dyson brush wont turn

Hi There is a reset switch on your Dyson that needs to be pressed when something gets stuck in the brushes. The reset switch helps protect the motor that spins the brush from damaging if something gets stuck inside the brushes. There is a little red pole that sits up behind the brushes on the vacuum head, I believe it's on the left side of the floor head as if you were behind the machine vacuuming. Try pushing this reset switch first.

How do you remove the plastic end fitted to the flexible hose

Not necessarily. Some Dyson models have an all inclusive flexi hose which attaches to the handle spine. Check EBay for replacement flexi hoses - UK has many sellers - or handles which have the metal pole and the flexi tube attached.
Alternatively take off the flexi hose from the bottom rear of the Dyson - it can come out via a press in lock release but it may take some time to do this. Once that is done the flexi hose should come down freely from the metal tube. If it doesnt then you may need to consider both replacements.
Dont forget to rate, thanks.
