I have printer MP 237 Printer. Iam not able to print from Excel File. Printer name is not visible if I select Print option. Where as in Word file it is visible. Please help me. Its Urgent

SOURCE: only allows "print to file" will not allow printer to print.

you can go to printers and change the port to the virtual usb printer port....from the file port

SOURCE: MY printer will not print Excel spreadsheets

I had this problem on my Vista pc but it was for all programs it would say its printing and nothing happened,what I did was leave the old one installed on the pc and created another and then deleted the old.But have you tried uninstalling excell and re-installing it to see if that changes anything, and when you reinstalled epson did you go to their site and download the updated firmware/software for the printer this could be another cause?!

try this. Some of the terminology may vary as I had the solution in german. It came from Lexmark. 


-     click add printer
-   enter a name for the printer eg Lexmark or troublemaker ;-)
-     click continue
-    from the list chose 'LPD/LPR Hostprinter' and click continue
-     in tne next window enter lexnet3://IP (of the printer):1
-     click continue
-     chose Lexmark and click continue
-     chose your printer type
-     click add printer

This worked for me after reinstalling the printer via cd software.
Otherwise try the usb cable, you then have to go to printer preferences and change the usb printer to standard.
Strangely enough my printer used to work fine via W-Lan, suddenly I received that error. Perhaps du to an update to 10.5.6? I don't know. Hope thet helps, best regards Peter

OK, download the new driver from the website and install. Next, go to control panel and go to printer. Right click on printer and select "properties" Click the tab that says "ports".... uncheck where it says "print to file" and then check the box that says "USB"... this is what i did and it worked. Good luck!

Since upgrading to Windows 7, I can't print from Excel (Office 2003). When I try, a "Print to File" window pops up even though that check box is unchecked in the print window. I can print from Word and...

try to make the installed printers as a default printer and then try to print.

in case that does not work when you try to print from excel, click on the drop down for printer name and select the correct printer.

My printer does no print for excel file

Try this.
Open a new excel worksheet and type in Just one or two words or numbers and try to print that sheet. Make sure the correct printer is selected - that is if you have other printers in the list shown in the printer menu- also the correct paper is selected.
If this test is successful, then you have to examine the other excel files which failed to print. Chances are you have the wrong printer selected.

I cannot print. When I order a print I get the question PRINT TO FILE (OUTPUT FILE NAME) I give a name but will still not print

this problem coming due to one option called print to file is selected in the printer dialog box solve this problem open your document and give printer it will open one window to select the printer where you want to print in that window you can find a option (print to file ) unchecked the option and give print ..... it will print ( print to file option comes near to preferences option button )

Trying to print microsoft excel spreadsheet printer keeps saying load tray A4 both trays have paper whats going on

This isn't actually a problem with the printer, but with Excel's print preferences.

In Excel, select File->Print to bring up the print dialog.
Select your Dell 3100 if it's not the default, and then hit the Properties button just to the right of the printer name.
On the printer properties dialog, there's a field named "Paper size"
Click on that field and select "Letter (8.5 x 11 in)" You may have to scroll to find this selection.

Hit OK to close the printer properties dialog, then hit OK to print your worksheet.

How do you print envelopes?

More information is required so I will only assume you are using Excel as a database. Excel is a spread sheet program used by accountants or for mathematical formulas and ledgers. Access is the Database program, however, Excel has functions which is faster to sort and work with address, phone number, zip codes. I will confess, I use Excel as Database because it is quick and easy. I do not know what version of Excel you are using so I will describe it from Office 2007. From Excel make sure you have headers above each column i.e. First Name in Cell A1 Last Name in Cell B1 Address in Cell C1 ect.

Make sure your data is correct and case sensitive as you would like it. If you want zip+4 select the Colum and right click to format the cells using special and select Zip or Zip+4.
It is easiest to use Microsoft Word for the next step rather than format the cells, add page breaks, and customize the print size.
Save your document as an Excel document where you can find it to import it into Word.
Open word and select Mailings then Start Mail Merge and Step by Step Mail Merge.
Select Envelope and next. Select envelope options to change envelope size, font and print options.
Click on Next Select recipients.
Click on browse under select an existing list.
Select the Excel file with your address information.
From the Select Table check the First row of data contains column headers.
Click on the OK buton.
Arrange your envelope then Preview it and your good to go.
If you have an older version of word selects Tools and click on Mail Merge.
Select Get Data.
Pull down Excel for document type.
Select entire Spread Sheet.
Layout your document and complete the merge.
On old versions of word it may not recognize the Excel file. If this happens open the Excel file and save it as a Database File (.dbf) and it should work.

How do you take the printer off of manual feed?

Are trying to print to the MP feeder? If not, then you need to check whether or not is the selected paper source. Step 1: Go to the Printer's paper menu and scroll down until you see the Tray Select. Go into that menu and verify that the correct selection has been made. Step 2: Go to the "Printers and Faxes" Windows menu and then select your printer and verify the paper size and tray settings. Step 3: If you are using an application such as Word, go into page setup and verify that you have the correct setting. Last step, go into the driver, select "Print to File" and print the file. The printer cant print at all from an accounting program

If it is printing from Windows and other apps then the accounting program (app) is not selecting the printer. I don't know what program you are using but you should have a pop-up when you select print inside the app that will allow you to select the printer you want to use. There is a difference between selecting the print icon in the app and selecting File on the toolbar and then print under file The last method (File-Print) should give you the pop-up to select your printer and other options as well..

My hp laserjet 4 plus printer cannot print excel files

wherer are you printing this, A4 is european, north america would use letter, etc..
if you go to control panel, open the printers and faxes folder, right click the printer in question, a window will pop up, click on properties.. a new window should open. click on "Printing Defaults" or "Printing Preferences" then click on "Advanced" ( I believe it should be to the lower left) that will open another window, in paper size make it Letter if your in N America, A4 for Euro.. this will set the deafult print..
Click ok, then print a test page from the general tab..

The reason you getting this LOAD LETTER message. your excel page setup is set to print to letter, your machine is set to print top A4

If you open Excel then go to Print then a window should pop up where you select the printer you want to use, click on Properties, then Lay out, then Advanced, and input the correct paper size before you print.

does this happen with all excels files, or one particular?
Create a new Excel file, and try printing it.. possibly could be in that particular file. I have seen this happen alott particulary with PDF files.. Where the incorrect paper size is in the file..
