How to reset danbury clock chime

There are so many different battery clock movements, with entirely different setting mechanisms, that I will have to answer generally. If your clock has three batteries, it is probably an older movement and may be worn out (just a possibility).
First, check the movement for a chime shut-off switch or a night-off switch. Some of these clocks have lots of switches and controls and it's hard to notice them all.
Make sure that all batteries are new and fresh, and installed in the correct direction. Use ONLY alkaline batteries. Sometimes batteries marked "heavy duty" are really old fashioned acid batteries. Never use rechargeable batteries of any kind!
Many battery clocks, especially the older ones, have setting mechanisms that are extremely complicated. It is almost impossible to get them set up without an instruction manual. Sometimes every step must be followed in order to get the clock chiming. If you don't have one, I would attempt to get one from the manufacturer (not always an easy thing).
If all else fails, you can replace the whole movement. The replacement will not be identical to the original one. You try to get one that is compatible, then some modifications to the mounting system in the case may be necessary. You can get these from clock materials houses.

Do you have to change batteries on clock inside house along with outside batteries to get correct outside temperature

My most consistent (best, repeatable) results with this process are to replace both sets of batteries, both in the clock and in the outside temperature sensing unit. Start by removing all batteries out of everything. Now replace the batteries in the outdoor unit, then (within 30 seconds) replace the clock batteries. The temp unit should begin communicating normally within 5 minutes (or less) and yes, you will have to reset the clock,

Needs new battery and will not adjust to new time

If it needs a new battery, replace it! With a new battery this clock should set it's own time. If it doesn't, there is a problem with the circuit and the clock will either need to be replaced or repaired.

Inspiron laptop clock occasionally reverts to July 2008

There is a small 3 volt battery on the motherboard which is the backup for the circuit clock .So if the battery has gone low in voltage the clock will be reset as the CMOS setting will be reset. The clock will then go back to the time of the laptop set-up which is in july 2008.
Replacing and then correcting the CMOS set- up on booting will set the clock to work to the current time/date.

Since DST started I cannot get my radio controlled clock to reset to the actual time. I replaced the battery and now the clock will set itself four hours from the time it stopped, then stop again. i have...

take the batteries back out and leave them out for at least 2 minutes. next put the batteries back in and put the clock near a wall or window so that the back of the clock faces colorado (where the WMV transmitter is),. It will most likely take all night for it to set properly, just after you put in the battery make sure that you have set your time zone on the back of the clock and if there is DST button press that too. just be patient, it will set itself. worse comes to worse you can set it by hand, but kind of defeats the purpose of having an "atomic clock". by the way the reason they call it "atomic" is becausee WMV's clock is tracking the decay of the Seisum atom, or some such bs.

We replaced the batteries on our SIO SCAN temp transmitter but it still will not register the outside temperature--what do I do?

Take the batteries out of the clock AND the temp transmitter. Wait about a minute, then replace the clock batteries. Wait another minute, then replace the transmitter batteries. Once the clock synchronizes with the satellite, you will need to set the time zone and whether you want DST on or off.

88900 Atomic Clock does not read time and temperature.

Batteries must come out of both the temperature sensor (transmitter) and base (clock and temperature display). Leave out for about 4 minutes. Replace the batteries in the temperature sensor FIRST and set it about 5 - 10 feet away from the base. Replace the batteries in the base and leave them both set without touching any buttons for at least 15 minutes (usually only takes 5 minutes or so). The temperature should start to display. You can set the clock manually to the correct time and have it get the updates via radio in the evening or night. Should work after all this just fine. (have done it alot of times this way over the years)

Good luck.
