Problem for RIM BlackBerry 8800 Smartphone

Can't access internet/maps. very frustrated!

Brand new RIM Blackberry 8800 sim free/unlocked phone. I inserted my payg vodafone sim, however, I can not access the internet despite having ample credit on the sim. Also when trying to access the maps the phone picks up satelites but only shows diagonal lines. Please help, I'm getting very frustrated.

The access to the internet may have something to do with Vodaphone - They will need to send you settings to save, which will allow you access.
