Bought a refurbished DS Lite for my daughter and it worked great for a few months but now when you try to play a game it shuts itself off. At first it shut itself off after you played a game for a while, now it shuts off after a few seconds of play time. I took it back to the store where I bought it and they determined that it was not a battery problem and they told me to contact Nintendo. I did, and they told me that it was broken and I could send it to them to have it fixed for $90, or I could purchase another refurbished one for $120. So much for their customer service. I mean, I already have a refurbished one that doesn't work. Why would I want another one just to have it break after a few months? Whats more is why would I want to pay them $120 for one when I can get a brand new one for $129.99?
I'm not a very satisfied Nintendo customer. :(
If anyone has any useful information I would love to hear it.

I have the same problem with my DS. I found that it only happens on games that use the letter buttons. Touch pad only games like Brain Age work fine. It seems like when I play games like Super Mario Bros, it happens after I use the letter buttons a lot.

I even tested my Super Mario Bros in another DS and the game worked fine. I tested a friends Mario game in my DS and it shut off. I have concluded it is a problem with my DS for sure.

I am about 3 months of warranty and Nintendo said I could buy a refurb for $90. I just want to repair mine.

On my DS, I play a game and it just flashes off at random every now and then, sometimes on the same exact spot during the game. I found that it occured less when I had the adapter plugged in. On top of that, if I'm not careful my DS would just loose it's memory. The game chip's memory is just fine, but for the DS itself it forgets my nickname, color setting, time and date setting (this happened once when I had the language setting in wasn't very fun).

Nintendo DS Lite Turns on sometimes, but not every time

It may be a bad DS or if you have a game in before the DS fully loads the game's connection is stopped somehow.

DS lite freezes during game play

their are 3 solutions but i cant asure that it will work
1. maybe when they play ds games like pac n roll the ds cardejects for some reason so sulution 1 is put tape ontop of the ds gamecard slot while their playin a ds game
2 maybe when they play a gba game the game pak is being hit by their chests or bellies so the card is moving a bit and the game freezes so put a big distance between the ds and the chest or belly
3. dont wiggle the ds alot and do you drop it often because if it is dropt often the ds will freeze often

DS Lite flight mode?

The Nintendo DS LIte itself is in flight more or it's called "not connected". Unless you activated the Picto-Chat or any wireless games (Download Play, WiFi), the nintendo ds isnt emitting any wireless signals.

Nintendo DS Lite

Hey rorufer,

According to information provided by the manufacturer, Nintendo products made for use within the U.S. are not desgined for overseas use. This unfortunately means that games purchased within the U.S. may not function correctly when used in a DS Lite purchased in Europe.

Some of the most common reasons why this restriction would be in place are potential language barriers (for warnings, operating instructions and disclaimers), as well as differing government regulations between the two regions regarding the product's warranty or potential safety/electrical concerns.

While some users may report cross-compatiblity between foreign consoles and select game titles, this cannot be guaranteed in every instance. Nintendo itself has suggested only purchasing games for the DS Lite (and other consoles) in the region where the DS Lite itself is purchased.

Hope this helps you out.

DS Lite freezes during game play

If you're using an R4 then it could be that the reset option is turned on, turn this option off and that should fix the problem.
