SOURCE: plasma problem

check your torch and make sure nothing is loose. If that does not fix it you will need to disassemble the tip and make sure there is not any debris if there is clean it out and replace any worn parts.

SOURCE: spectrum 2050 plasma cutter will not arc

Possible failure of the trigger switch and or the cable back to the unit. Use an ophmmeter to check that the trigger and cable are good,

Then with the ohmmeter check the continuityu of the cable to the electrodes,

Connectors are always suspect.

These are starting ponts to check.

SOURCE: spectrum 2050 plasma cutter .

Check compressed air pressure is in limits otherwise unit will cut out. Try adjusting the pressure up. also make sure the supply pressure is correct as it may not be your plasma cutter at fault.

Plasma cutters support

Plasma Arc cutting is an excellent choice for most cutting applications but it is particularly well suited for applications where speed and excellent cut quality are important. Because of the intense heat of the plasma arc – around 40,000° F compared to 5,700° F, with gases used with Oxy-Fuel torches – the cut is clean with little or no dross.
