my computer has been infected by a virus/spyware. I run Norton Anti-virus and Norton Confidential, I also have SpyBot but the bugs are still there. What can I do? And also, since I have these anti-virus programs, how did this happen in the first place?

Restart your pc in safe mode (F8 on boot up), select safe mode then run the antivirus programme again, it should find and remove it this way.

Firstly, you should try removing any spyware on your computer. Is there any particular anti-virus you use or any other anti-spyware, adware or malware programs?
I'd suggest Spybot Search and Destroy. Here's a tutorial explaining how to use it:
You can download it from this link.
Good luck.

I use xp.. i download a file in internet after that ,everytime i start the computer theres always a virus(i have avira) but cant remove it..

Keep updating avira always and install spyware terminator to check is it spyware or not because avira free version only for virus but there is something like spyware, adaware, malware etc. Just try spyware terminator, update avira and if possible install Comodo firewall and block the unknown applications connecting to internet.

Try cleaning the unnecessary files using ATF cleaner (Simple and good) link below.

Virus Problem

What are your symptoms? What I mean is, how do you know you are infected with viruses?

Many times problems stem not from viruses, but malware like adware and spyware. These malicious programs can be detected and removed using anti-spyware programs like MalwareBytes and SUPERAnti-Spyware.

You can download them here:

Hope this helps!

I downloaded the program Antivirus 2009 Professional but i cannot access it or find a way to make sure it is installed

Antivirus 2009 is a hoax. It a virus/spyware intended only to harm your computer. To get it off is way hard. Check my website.

I would try running one of the free online scans by someone like Mcafee or PCCillin, you can run these without actually buying the software. They will help you see if you have any issues.
As for the file you cannot delete. It is likely that this file has been locked hence your not able to remove it. There is a free handy program called unlocker that may help if you search for this on google and install it, you can then right click on the file and you will have a new unlocker option, choose this and you can then unlock the file, and even try and delete the file from this program.
Hope this helps. Please note I have no idea what your file it so I cant guarantee that if you remove this file everything will still work, as long as your sure its ok to delete the method above should work.

Windows effected by the virus

If you have not install a anti virus program on the computer to scan and remove the virus. A good virus remover could be found at AVG Anti virus. Here you can download either the free edition or the Pro Edition which is not free. Try the free edition first to see if it will remove the virus. Also get a spyware removal program. Good Luck
