Both lights start blinking and then it restarts multiple times

this is not the first time this has happened. toshiba rs-tx20 dvd recorder - it will work fine for a long time and then it will start blinking (both lights) and then after 5-10 minutes ) it will restart completely over and when it does it does it multiple times - usually it is less than a day but this time it is going on two days - i unplugged it for 5/6 hrs today but as soon as i plugged it back in - it started over....Please help - I am a dvr addict... thanks
