The fuses are solid state fuses, one is a small white top surface fuse on the bottom of the board the other is a green "resistor" looking fuse. both are marked with Fxxx ( the x's are numbers) check them with a meter for continuity so you dont change a good one.

SOURCE: no picture for Genesis - RF or console?

The problem is most likely not the console. The first thing you should try is cleaning the contacts on your games. Most of the games have tamper proof fasteners so unless you have the right tools you won't be able to open them. You can take a q-tip with a little alcohol (damp not wet) and clean both sides of the circuit board on the cartridge until the q-tip comes out clean. Let it dry before sticking it into the console. If you do this to a couple of games with no luck try taking an emery board (for fingernails) and gently inserting it into the connector in the console a few times all along the length of it. Make sure to only push it straight in and pull it straight out. If you try pushing it side to side while it is in there you could damage the connector.

SOURCE: Problem with the 1st generation sega genesis

If the screen changes (From snow to black or something) when the console is turned on it sound like the console is partially working. Try cleaning the Cardridge pins que tip and some sort of cleaning fluid.

Once this is done insert and eject the cartridge several times then repeat the cleaning process on the cartridge. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: how do i set up my sega genesis

There should be regular av cables and wall adapter for it. Mine came with the wrong cords and that might of happened to you. So if you don't know the av cables go in the back of the tv and plug's in the back of the sega. and the wall adapter goes in the wall. If you don't have the cords than get them off line. Type in:

http://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=sega+genesis+cords&tag=googhydr-20&index=aps&hvadid=2858659671&ref=pd_sl_8zrz6m8bxu_b

cut and paste it online and you can get them.

Sega genesis wont start up

I had had a problem with my old Sega Genesis console the red light would not turn on even though I had turned the power on after a few se the voltage regulator got very hot really fast you could have a similar issue like I had for this if it is stone cold then it is dead. Try another ac adapter too see if it works if it does work then the ac adapter was bad. If there is no power light being on and it gets really hot really fast then it could be the capacitors that are causing it not to work or the voltage regulator is not working right. So you could buy a new one then.

My sega genisis isn't working on my LCD screen

2q== they have videos on Youtube on how to hook Sega genesis version 1 2 and 3 consoles on up to a flat screen tv or any of the newer TV's. I just use a CRT style TV they are much easier to hook up old consoles too. Just buy a CRT tv type then.

My sega genesis won't work - it was working fine

You screwed it up by plugging it into the 64. It is too old to handle that kind of stuff. I reccomend going and getting youself a Xbox 360 slim. They are much more efficient.

The audio on my sega genises 2 doesn't work, and it's not the cable because ive tried different ones, is there any way i can fix it?

Well it might be an internal issue with the console like the parts inside of the console that
allows there to be sound and controlls the sound might be broken or you could buy a new ac adapter to see if it makes a difference.

I have two CD expansion consoles won't come on

"I have two CD expansion consoles and can't get the led to light and it doesn't seem to have any power at all. I have 3 Genesis mod 2 that work with my good cd console and hooked each up and get nothing with either one."
Which CD expansion do you have? There was a model 1 and 2. Either case, both have fuses that keep the system from powering on at all, they are marked on the board as F1, and ought to be near the power input. These go out all the time, and it's a common problem.

I repaired mine by using a fuse holder from auto zone, so if it ever goes out again I can easily replace it and skip any soldering.
