SOURCE: my usb modem [lemon 3g]
First, check for the power source, there should be a light indicator on the panel of the modem, else, power is a problem, check your adapter/power cable. Next, is use USB cable/USB port, try to use other USB cable/USB port. Another option is to check your Control Panel - Device Manager, see if there is a USB Modem currently installed. Remove/delete the device from your Device Manager. Going back to Control Panel, select Add Hardware. If still fails to detect, your Modem is dead.

SOURCE: my ipod nano serial number
Try resetting the Ipod
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and Volume Down button simultaneously for at least eight seconds or until the Apple logo appears. You may need to repeat this step and after that try again
