I assume you mean that you cannot log on to your PC.

At the risk of sounding rude, this is one of those things most technicians do not want to handle for a stranger because stolen PCs are such a big problem.

Having said that, if it is your PC and you simply want to be able to use it again you can contact the manufacturer (in this case Acer) and have them send you a recovery disk. They may charge you a few dollars but it will allow you to restore the PC to the original factory configuration.

Unfortunately you will lose all of your data, but at least you will be back in business again.

If you have valuable data that you need to save you should take the unit to a reputable local repair shop. They will want to confirm you are the owner of the unit and, depending on the installed operating system, they may have more advanced repair tools available that can back up your data before performing the recovery process.

See if it is disabled by BIOS. you can check this with your manual.

My acer orbicam is not working

Do a system Restore to before the updates.
Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore.
Disable Anti-virus while doing it!

Once that is done, change your Auto updates to Notify you when updates are
ready to be downloaded.
Ones you don't want>right-click>Hide.
And DO NOT install any Hardware drivers form Windows Update
Go to Acer's website to do that!

How to restore my laptop without a recovery disc? (acer aspire 5100)

You could try hitting the f10 key at the top of your keyboard as soon as you start the computer that should take you into factory restore to start with it looks likes its loading windows but in about a min it takes you into the option to take back to factory settings

If f10 dont work try alt\f10 or the blue fn\f10

if none of them work hit the delete key on startup and go into bios to make sure that f10 is not disabled because sometimes it is by default disabled

But be very carefull not to alter anything else in the bios or you could and probably have big problems just enable f10 0r f12 if they are disabled then hit save click yes

windows will then restart and try the f10 key again

good luck

I ended up with a virus on my acer aspire one laptop and it prevents me from doing a system restore. How can I fix the laptop without sending it to a computer fixit shop?

Start up in Safe Mode. Go to your System Properties and disable System Restore. Run a full-system scan with your antivirus. Remove the detected infections, and go back and re-enable System Restore. Create a restore point, and restart. This should remove the virus.

How do you get an acer out of hibernation?

If it hangs in hibernation the only way to get it out is to hold the power button down until it shuts off, and reboot. If it continues to hang up in hibernation, do a system restore o system repair with the recovery or operating system disc. If the problem persists after the restore or repair, then you will need to disable the hibernation.

System Restore

any changes to windows registry that are automatically done such as Windows background updates will make restore un-useable. Microsoft should provide this warning, maybe they do but I have not seen it. Try disabling auto-updates, but first you must get back to "...set computer back to factory default".
