My 2001 cavalier won't start tho the battery is new; it acts like it's not getting fuel even tho it has half a tank

Disconnect the fuel line off the carb then turn the starter over. There should be gas shoot out. If not your fuel pump may be shot. have you ever changed the fuel filter? If its plugged it will not work.

I have a p28 pioneer, hasnot been used in a few years. I put a new carburator kit in it, now it's over fueling. Gas is coming out of exaust. won't start. It does fire though.

You need to do a pressure test on the carb, this will tell you if the inlet needle is leaking, it is also important that the metering lever onto the needle is not set too high, on the metering side of the carb the gasket goes against the carb body first to act as a spacer to the metering diaphram.

My generator acts like its not getting fuel. It will fire up and quit when I use starting fluid. Its getting fire to the spark plug. I made sure the carburator was clean. The float is working fine also. I...

make sure your shut off valve is working right in fuel line, pull off the hose @ carb and see if you have fuel there, then pull float bowl off and see if gas is making it into there, move float up and down and see if fuel drips out of carb with float in down position, also check to see if you have a electric solenoid in float bowl, if so this has to open up with power on it. If it does'nt open you won't get any fuel in the bowl, my guess is either that or your needle is sticking closed....good luck

Gas not getting to the carburator. Starter turns

Check all of the fuel lines very carefully for breaks or cracks in the fuel lines, especially between the fuel tank and the fuel pump.

If the fuel lines are all in good condition then you can safely assume that the problem is in the fuel pump and you will need to replace it. (If the fuel pump is in really bad shape the engine oil on the end of the engine oil dip-stick will smell like fuel)

2002 suzuki sat up for two years can't get it to start

Ok then if it's a carburated engine you'll need to open the fuel filter and carburator itself and clean them up, as you know fuel evaporates by passage of time and they leave little hard particles that can clog fuel filer and/or carburator, you can open and wash them with gasoline, at the mean time it's a good idea to change spark plugs first hand, it might solve the problem. Hope it helps and please don't forget to rate the answer it helps me, thanks!

74 volkswagon hard to start when hot

your getting back into my era now but try holding down the acc. pedal when cranking if this helps somewhat then the carb is leaking fuel into the cylinders or the choke is sticking closed is it smoking black out the tail pipe? this would be from excessive fuel -- fuel evaporation can take place when a fuel line is to close to a heat source- we had vapor lock common to older cars usually when running down the road tho. another stretch is an ignition coil which will weaken with heat. oh, is the timing correct? advancing properly? great car i hope this helps!
