Question about Panasonic TC-32LX700 Television

1 Answer

My Panasonic TC-32LX700 has decided it doesn't recognize any channels. No matter the station, the screen reads "Channel not available." It is hooked up to an antenna, not cable. I unplugged it and then redid completely the initial set up, but still get this message, and then the screen eventually shuts off, although the tv itself is still on. Any thoughts??

If you searched for active channels and got no results, the antenna may not be adequate or may not be properly oriented. I have to use an amplified antenna even though I am located in a major metropolitan area

SOURCE: no channel available

Unplug it for 10 secs and plug it back in then wait 10 more seconds and turn it on with the on/off switch. Unplugging makes it reload the firmware, but on/off does not. If that doesn't work try a factory reset. For my Panasonic you do this. Open front door to get at the buttons. Turn TV off. Press and hold the OK button and at the same time press and HOLD the on/off switch for about 3 secs. You should get a self check screen that will last a little while and then the TV will go to the menu screen.

SOURCE: NO TV PICTURE

The best way is to contact your service provider and ask them to trouble shoot guide you, there should be a way to reset or diagnose the receiver or if you prefer go back to the place you bought it and ask for a replacement, You should still have the manufacturer's warranty, check that as well.

SOURCE: Get HD Signals but it Says Channels not available

Try checking to see whether your input is set correctly. If you have composite cables connecting your cable box and television, make sure the input is either Comp1 or Comp2. Same thing if you're using HDMI.

Problem is caused by voltage irregularity. Pulled plug for an hour and then plugged it back in. TV reset and it works fine. If this does not work it needs a TV technician.

Try relocating the location of your antenna or changing the direction it is pointed. Once this is changed, select PROGRAM CHANNEL from the SETUP menu and set ANT IN to Antenna before selecting Auto to start the programming process.

Picture not clear when playing a recorded program from dvd

I had a similar problem with an Insignia converter box. This is confusing but . . . I was told by an Insignia person that you can only program the channel that you have on and cannot record a different channel. My output channel is 3. My roof antenna is attached to my converter box "From Antenna" jack. Attach the converter's "To TV (RF)" jack to your VCR's "Antenna Input" jack. Attach "Antenna Output" jack to TV "Antenna Input". You will see your programs on your output channel, but if your VCR is like mine, your VCR may not recognize anything but your output channel, no matter which station is actually showing on the TV. If I want to record a show on channel 7 while I'm gone, I have to make sure the converter station is on 7 and that I choose channel 3 as my channel to record. You cannot program shows to be taped on different stations unless you physically change it on the converter box. I put my VCR on "Record" and flipped the stations from one to the next from my converter remote control and I taped exactly what was on the screen from one station to the next. You cannot tape one thing and watch another. Clear as mud??? Hopefully, not.

My plasma screen reads no signal and not available

Well make sure it's on the right source, I have a 50 inch Samsung and when you're on the wrong channel it'll read no signal and you can't do anything. So make sure you have cable hooked up right and make sure it's on the right source or video channel first. I don't know but this might help.

TC-32LX85 only stay on 5 minutes.

Just found a solution to this problem (conveniently hidden on unlucky page 13 of the user manual). This means that your TV is in store mode... it refreshes every so often and changes to the different inputs to show store viewers the quality of different inputs.

First, go to Menu - Setup - Advanced Setup and make sure that the "Auto power on" is set to "No." Turn the TV off and unplug it. Plug it back in. Press and HOLD the power button on the TV (not the remote). Hold for 2-3 seconds or so... you'll hear a few clicks. Release the button, then press it. The first thing that pops up should be, "Select viewing environment." Make sure you select "Home." Continue with setup from there.

Voila!

If you cannot get the original remote or a more compatable aftermarket remote, you might try hooking up a VCR or Cable box to the auxiliary audio/video jacks and use that input while changing channels with the VCR/cableBox.
