Pull the drawer out a little bit and look on the sides just behind the front panel. You'll see a little round plastic piece (about 1/2 or 5/8" diameter) with a plastic rib going through the center. That is the head of a plastic pin that holds the panel in place. Get a long-nosed pliers, grab that rib, and pull the pin straight out. Do the other side. Now pull the front panel down and tilt out the bottom a little. Don't let it drop, there is a ground wire that you have to detach before you can put that panel some place else. Putting the panel back on is more difficult, because the door wants to close as you're trying tp push that panel up and back in place. Stick something in the top of the drawer so it won't close. Sometimes it helps to push the glides on the bottom of the drawer back about and inch or two. You have to look underneath to see how to release the catch for the drawer glides.

You cant put the drawer back in its place because the grup is not in the correct possition.To bring the grup to the right possition you need to press the switch that the drawer presses when it is puted correct inside.Look at the drawer and you will see at the back side a knob, see where it enters at the machine (that is the switch).Press the switch with something plastic and the grup will move and stop to the right possition.Now you can put the drawer back on.

For 2005 Toyota Corolla (and Matrix), the location of the cabin air filter is inside of the drawer (passenger side). Open the drawer, you will see a screw on the RIGHT hand side. Unscrew it with a cross shape screw driver. Unlock the drawer from the screw holder. And take the drawer out of the cabin. After the removal, you will be able to see the location of the cabin air filter. There is a lock at each side of the filter cover. For each side, use two fingers to pinch the lock and pull out the cover. You will see the old filter after removing the cover. Pull it out, and insert your new filter.
Put the cover back. Make sure the two locks are firmly locked. Put the drawer back. To make this work easier, you may lock the bottom of the drawer first, as there are TWO locks on each side of the bottom drawer. Close the drawer to see if the position is right. Place the screw back, that's all

There should be slots in the sides of the drawer slides. Insert a screw driver in the slots and push the tabs in and pull the drawer out that way. To reinstall the drawer just hold the drawer slide and push the drawer past the tabs.

The most likely cause is damage, which should be seen with the eye. It could be a belt, broken cogs/teeth in the sledge mechansim, or a micro leaf switch bent out of place.

Look into the space where the drawer goes and check whether or not there is some obstruction. By all means don't force the drawer or you may break something. Sometimes a sensor or lever hangs in the path.

There is a screw in the bottom of the two back corners that holds the drawer glide in place. Remove the glide and then you'll be able put it back the way it belongs.

Fernando is right! Now I will put it in girl terms. The lip of the drawer (lip is at back of the drawer) rests on a white plastic thing. But when you take the drawer out completely, the white plastic thing retracts and just looks like the back of the fridge. So when you go to put the drawer back in, you see nothing to put the lip on. So pull the white plastic thing (it looks like a white plastic rectangle about the size of an envelope) forward and then hook the lip onto it and gently pull the white "augur" (the thing that senses when it's time to make ice) down and slide the drawer back in. My son figured this out from reading Fernando's solution. What a relief! Our model is a 561.
